When you research motels on TripAdvisor or Google you sometimes wonder if some folk review on price, location or quality of the accommodation. What a surprise it was to find out that all of the excellent reviews that this establishment has have been based on all three.

We had a super friendly welcome from the owner at checkin but nothing she said prepared us for how good the units were. First class fittings, furniture and accessories. Thick plush carpet throughout, underfloor heating, modern well finished bathroom, practical kitchen and an amazing view from the lounge. 

We could tell the owners are very proud of their units in the quality of the finishing and the cleanliness. Well done Team.

For anyone thinking of staying in Te Anau give them a call, you won’t be disappointed. 5 star from us.

We stayed in an upper level Tanara apartment which is amazing. The view of the lake was unobstructed, we could sit in our Lazy Boys and look out or enjoy the view from the balcony outdoor setting or even from the bathroom! Separate toilet, in room washer/drier was invaluable and underfloor heating in toilet and bathroom. These are very modern units designed to cater for every desire, there’s even a TV to watch in the bath. Great setup in the kitchen with convenient dish drawer, a coffee machine which grinds its own beans and lots of bench space. Really good Wifi here too with a very generous daily limit. And now to mention the owner, Illeana, whose passion for the area and helpfulness would be hard to match. All her recommendations for activities and local operators were spot on and we enjoyed a wonderful floatplane trip with Wings and Water. This was a truly awesome stay and we loved all of our four nights of luxury, a great place to return to after full days of sightseeing. 

WOW! What an outstanding place to stay. We were greeted with the most impeccable service, followed by the most gorgeous room. Lakefront view, beautifully designed room with gorgeous furnishings and outstanding bathroom to match! Luxury at a great price, stunning location and an amazing vibe. We will be booking this lovely place again, and recommending to all of our friends and family!!

Excellent apartment. Was very spacious. Nothing was an issue, staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in an upstairs apartment with a great view of the lake. Was very clean. Easy walk to shops. Lots of parking around the back of the building. Would definitely stay again.

My husband and I recently stayed here during a trip of the South Island. We spent three nights in the new block which was built late 2019. 
We were blown away with our apartment. Wonderful shower and bath facilities. Great pressure, beautifully clean and tastefully decorated. The drinking bottles in the fridge and the washer/dryer were a great touch for the outdoor adventurers like us. The views over the lake were stunning, and the room warm, super clean, and well thought out. We will definitely be staying here again. We highly recommend you give it a go.

We stayed in an upstairs Tanara suite, which had been built end of 2019. The attention to detail where everything had been constructed and furnished to a very high standard may the stay exceptionally enjoyable.

We both agreed this one of the best showers we had experienced worldwide - bath and separate shower with many options inc 2 shower heads - though everything was well labelled and easy to operate as it was throughout the unit from the electric remote control blinds to the faux-fire.  

All was thoughtfully designed including kitchenette/breakfast bar, and it was soooo relaxing to sit in the rocking/recliner chairs looking out over the lake and mountains... and all within walking distance of restaurants and shops.

On my wishlist to stay here longer next time!

Stayed last week, passing through.  The room looked recently refurbished to a very high standard.  Would have loved to have stayed for longer had we had the opportunity.  Great facilities, great view of the lake and handy to the centre of town.

This property was the cleanest we have ever come across, the staff contact was great, very helpful, absolutely loved the one bedroom apartment, so spacious and great facilities.  The view from the room over the lake was incredible.

Stayed for 2 nights.  Great value for money. No need for booking.com etc these guys happy to give us Kiwis a great rate.  Their recommendations for eating etc were spot on.  Even gave us up to date weather reports.

Facilities were top notch. Laundry was totally clean and no need to supply own detergent.

Really enjoyed our Lakeview room, great price and very cosy.  Plenty of room with single and queen beds, underfloor heating made whole unit lovely.  Best bit was the awesome power of the shower! Owners were very friendly and helpful, guest laundry also good.  Definitely a great 2 night stay.

Thank you for an incredible stay in your stunning unit. Direct lakefront views were breathtaking and the layout fully compliments this... and then our beautiful room. The room was lovely and clean - to the point I felt like we were the first to stay in the unit and it was very spacious. All the special touches added to the luxurious feel - bath with a tv, step for shaving legs (ladies you will get this) stunning fire, coffee machine, lush towels, giant tv, standing in the shower looking at the lake thru one way windows -breathtaking - comfy bed and we were made to feel very welcome right from arrival. Everything is just a short walk away. Thank you for making this a real memorable birthday stay. I was supposed to be overseas and yet a stay like this makes me grateful to have holidayed in my home area - x

Luxurious 50th birthday stay

The ground floor apartment we had booked for three nights was spacious and comprised a super king bedroom, a bathroom and a living room with an integrated kitchen. While not being stylish the interior had a modern touch. We had direct access to a garden terrace and an unobstructed lakeview. For those who do not intend to use the kitchenette: The motel is just a 5 minute walk from Te Anau center with various restaurants. The Visitor Center is also close by - ideal for booking the Doubtful and Milford Sound tours. Our hosts were nice and helpful. And we were most grateful for the self-service laundry.

During our stay the new deluxe apartment building was about to be finished. Though we had been satisfied with our lodging I'm pretty sure that the new suites will offer an even better experience.

Lakeview From All Rooms

We stayed here for 4 nights. There are two sections of this place we stayed in what appears the newer section. This place have everything you can think of. Tv in front of the bathtub, rain shower in the shower, sensor lights at your feet ay night, decorative faux fireplace, soaps for washer and kitchen, expresso machine, electric shades, recliner chairs, patio seating with a lake view, all the appliances, glasses, plates, cooking stuff you would ever need, microwave, THE BEST PLUSH BATH TOWELS I have seen in years. Light controls everywhere. Washer/dryer, USB charge sockets on each side of the bed, free wifi, 48” flat screen tv

Would love a condo like this!

This motel is in a perfect location, with stunning views, a handy walk to town yet quiet. It was spacious, clean accommodation, with a well equipped kitchen and we loved the separate bedroom with super comfortable bed and bonus TV😁 
We received a pleasant friendly welcome from Anita but when I had problems accessing the wifi (the code I was given had expired) the manager took over & I was treated as if it was all my problem!  Was told to phone the wifi supplier who sent me back to the manager to get a new code. Eventually, more than 30 mins later...yeah wifi but no apology for the inconvenience. Staying 3 nights we expected to have wifi for 3 nights...but no.... it was back to me ringing the supplier again, to be told it was out of business hrs! So back to the front desk, where at last I was given a new access code. Again another 30 mins plus out of my day and again no apology. After the debacle of accessing wifi here, we would not stay here again because of the poor customer service that we'd received from someone in a service industry.....very disappointed by the treatment/attitude.  Not a pleasant experience at all :(
