Omaka Heights B & B Country Stay

Two senior couples found Omaka Heights  Farm Stay to be a perfect B&B to serve as our base of operations while we visited wineries and did sightseeing around Blenheim and Renwick. There are two modern and very well kept rooms ( with separate bathrooms) and a small common area for breakfasts and snacks. The view from the unit overlooks the whole valley. The hosts Paula and Russell are very helpful with suggestions for things to do and places to eat. While less than 10 minutes out of Renwick the B&B is quiet and peaceful. Wonderful place

We had a lovely stay in this room overlooking the valley. The host and hostess were very welcoming, even letting us leave our car in the morning well before check in while we went on our wine tour. The space was clean and comfortable. We were only there for one night, during our honeymoon. A highlight was the hedgehog in the garden, and their talkative cat.

Host was really hospitable and welcoming, ready to share her insights about the region. Overall stay was comfortable and awesome, great BnB. Only gripe is the distance from the towns - underestimated this one and had to drive a good 30 mins from Blenheim

Wonderful base of operations for Marlborough Region

When I booked, asked for something nice for my husband’s birthday but my request was ignored. Then, surprisingly was told that I can only pay in cash. Had the time wasn’t late, I would have left. B&Bs must accept credit cards. The next morning I drove 5km each direction to take cash and had to pay $8 fees. The owner saw us driving and ran after the car as if we are running away and that was very unpleasant. We just paid and left.

The place is nice and clean. Like some B&Bs, there ie a shared kitchen and no mini fridge in the room. There is only a poor continental breakfast (we had to drive to town and buy some food for breakfast). Most annoying was the fact that this place doesn’t accept credit cards. Yes. In 2023! We had to drive to take cash from the ATM ($6 fee). The owner was a bit nervous that we may leave without paying and even suggested to come with us to the city (which we of course declined). There was noise all evening and the checkout is at 10:00 (not 12:00).
