We chose this place for its location close to family but the location might not suit others.  Tina was very pleasant and helpful.

I love how spacious & super clean the room & bathroom are. It’s so homie & cozy. It was my first time staying at a Airbnb Homestay accommodation because I normally stay at hotels. The view from the room, lounge & kitchen was great. I love how the sun shines through the house in the morning feels so welcoming. The beds were so comfortable & clean.

Our stay was perfect for what we wanted.  Tina was super friendly and helpful; our room had a great view; the bed was comfortable; shower had great pressure.A little hint to others - this is a beautiful old home, so you can hear others while in your room.  Not enough to disturb sleep though, just enough to know you're not alone in the home.  This also made it feel like a home, and not a hotel.Thanks

Tina runs the Kiwi Heritage as if all guests are family. You just felt at home. Tina herself was a nice engaging and helpful person.

Was very clean, lovely towels bedding etc, great city views, Host was awesome, would recommend to others.

Just wanted to leave a review for a wonderful stay. First time here in NZ and what a warm welcome form Tina. Beautiful building, clean and bright and an all round lovely place to stay. Close to train station, supermarket and bus stop. Absolutely perfect. Thank you so much! If I'm in Auckland again will have to stay here.

This homestay is a bit bare bones but otherwise lovely. We stayed in the Anawhata room which has a private entrance and small lounge. The addition of a fan and a hairdryer to that space would be lovely. Quiet and private despite being in a main road. Location is easy to access to the city, west Auckland and airport. Finn the cat is a delight.

Kiwi Heritage Homestay was easy to find situated on West Coast Road. It is a medium size residential home perhaps close to 100 years old. The owners are restoring some of the original charm of the dwelling with polished wooden floors and period furnishings. A large open fire warmed the comfortable living area. A well stocked kitchen provided ample food for breakfast (included).My room was basic though clean & tidy, comfy bed with extra blankets and a room heater. My host Tina was both helpful and charming, Thank you. The only problem I had was Traffic Noise, The police spent much of the night in hot pursuit, Flashing lights & sirens going by from time to time. In the end I resorted earplugs to aid sleep. Nice place to stay. Would stay again. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Thanks again. BJO

Old World Charm

Kiwi Homestay is very good value for money.  The room provides necessary amenities, such as storage, table, comfortable bed, extra heating if required.  The furniture is old but perfectly serviceable and spotlessly clean.  There are two shared bathrooms, which are up to date and spotless.  Any toiletries that have been left by previous guess are there for use if required.If guests need to cook, there is a fridge in the shared kitchen, in which their own food can be labelled and stored, tea and coffee is available for use at any time, and there is a selection of food left out by the owner (who lives in the premises) for consumption.If staying for a few days, there is a Countdown Supermarket not too far away, right next to a small Mall and a McDonalds if fast food is a personal choice.It's very convenient for me, as it isn't too far from car-rental pick-ups and returns.  A good place to stay after a long flight, after picking up a rental car, when driving any distance would be unsafe due to tiredness.I'm sure I'll be back.

Arrived at the home stay found the it clean, with great views of the city and surrounds, our host was very accommodating including speaking to the neighbor to allow us to use their drive way as storage for a trailer we were towing. The place was clean, breakfast was free of charge, would definitely stay again.

A one night stay in Auckland

With few options in this part of Auckland this was a real find. This large Art Deco home has been renovated recently, exposing lovely wooden floors and giving rooms a light, airy feel. One or two have a balcony suitable for supping a glass or two while gazing across the city lit by the setting sun. Shared bathroom is clean and has fresh hand&foot towels daily. Reiterating other reviews, the host Tina is lovely, and lets guests get on with their own thing. Definitely will be back. Be mindful it is situated on a main road, and there can be traffic noise on the side with the city views.

We needed bed for the night in this location and couldnt have asked for a better choice. We loved the feel of the place with its 'art deco' vibe.  High ceilings and polished wooden floors were a hit.  The beds in our upstairs spacious room just across from the bathroom were extremely comfortable.  The views out across the city from the high vantage point really special.  Simple breakfast of delicious homemade muesli and plunger coffee finished off our very pleasant nights stay.  A special mention of thanks to Tina for kindly returning the items of clothing I accidently left behind in the cupboard.
