The venue and the view are amazing. The shared kitchen is fabulous and well maintained. The bedrooms are small lbut the bed is huge and very comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and modern. BUT.. there are no kitchenettes... the rooms only have a bed (unless you opt for one with a private bathroom) There is no boat that the caretaker will taxi you around on. There is no bar. Cereal, milk, bread and eggs are provided for you to make your own breakfast. There are kayak, SUP and many very nice outside areas. The place is fabulous but does not have what the website says. Make sure you take all your food - nothing available there

Kawau Lodge is located in North Cove on Kawau Island. It is only accessible by boat. Transfers depart from Sandspit, approximately 1 hour’s drive north of Auckland. Cost of transfers are NZD25 per person each way.

Could guests please contact Kawau Lodge prior to their arrival with an estimate of their arrival time at Sandspit and also so that Kawau Lodge can forward guests a Food Preference Sheet for catering purposes. This is important as there are no shops on the island.
