We just returned to Auckland after 2 nights in the motel....it was great, clean, comfortable beds and very friendly staff, especially willing to help with anything they can to make your stay a good one.

Katikati Motel is great.

Katikati Motel is not flash by any stretch of the imagination.  It serves its function as a place to sleep, make tea (but there were no mugs, just teacups), and cook a meal if you needed (I didnt').  If you're just needing a place to sleep, the bed was comfortable, the sheets and towels etc were clean.  The shower lacked any real 'ompf' but the water was hot. It is a tired-looking motel that needs work put into the grounds and the rooms themselves.  The owner was lovely, though is trying to run the motel while she works another job.

Passing through Katikati

Font go near here the advertising is a lie. The gardens are completely messy ..no edible food there The host is not even living onsite and she crams families into the units in squalor everything from the moldy fridge to the lack of heating  unsafe pest ridden with very eery people living there in the office house . I have been told not to have mail sent there because it will go missing, her words not to look at or speak to the  menacing house guests she says are family(no resemblance) and under_her care' ...strange. the guests beside and behind the office all play loud annoying music they think is cool they mill around all-day all-night parties and the families there are living and not considered at all the adults in unit 2 and back of office are immature menacing and there are underage kids going about the place half cut. She did not want to know when i suggest kd they keep it down there was no toilet facility in my room ir shower yet i paid top dollar and provides completely non compliant accommodation. This place needs shutting down.

Nightmare in Fairview Road

I had the misfortune of staying at the KatiKati motel on a brief business stopover, unfortunately I did not have time to check reviews and that was a big mistake. 
The room was worse than basic, wallpaper peeling, stained bedcovers, a rickety half painted side table, and in mid winter a room with no double glazing or heating. Sorry there was a tiny fan heater that worked intermittently and could not warm up a shoe box. The bathroom was dated with a dirty stained basin and a trickle of hot water in the shower. While the price was reasonable, you really paid more than it was worth. 
However if you enjoy the sound of large trucks serenading you as you sleep, this motel gives it to you in spades. 
There was Wifi, but the signal so so weak and slow, it would have been better using a signal lamp.
If you have to stay in the area, DONT stay here.

You would be better off sleeping in your car

This is an old motel much in need of a complete makeover. The advertising is quite misleading and we were very disappointed, having travelled from the bottom of the South Island in one day to find this accommodation left much to be desired. It was like a step back in time and very overpriced for what was offered. We were unable to contemplate a night in the room. Finally tracked down the proprietor who offered a refund. Still waiting. Sad situation. Not recommended in its current state.

Not as Advertised

Booked there  couldnt wait to leave after 3 hours sleep ' beifit people units ,,, not recommended  for the people whom earn an income and want a clean and healthy stay , but look at accommodation across the road  for $20 more i did  it was Heven
