Blue Heron Bungalows

Arrived at the Blue Heron Bungalow and was welcomed by the host, Susan. The house was clean and spacious. Utensils, equipment and furniture was clean and all in good condition. The term - home away from home - basically sums up this accommodation. 

I stayed at Blue Heron Bungalows June 2015, and had a fabulous time. 

I was in one of the plush rooms adjoining the house. It was just like home! I had my own setup: my own comfortable lounge, bathroom, and spacious bedroom with incredible art. 

Billy and Susie are the coolest people! They've lived all over the world, and have tons of amazing travel stories. Make sure to ask them about biking in Tibet!

It was such a pleasant surprise when I was served a breakfast snack! I was not expecting to receive any breakfast as it is not advertised, and Susie baked a special breakfast cake and gave me a slice as a treat. YUM. 

They have a beautiful cat named Squeak. They have an intricate garden with native plants: flowers and fruits. They have the best wifi I've had in my 6 months of travel in NZ. 

Can't say enough about this place!

This is a lovely large chalet with two bedrooms in Kaikoura. Steps away from the beach and the Peninsula trail. Close enough to the town yet in a quiet setting. The veranda is a good size, excellent for breakfast or evening wine.
I would choose this chalet whenever I am in Kaikoura.

What a beautiful, modern, spacious, bungalow with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, dining, 1. 5 bath, and a laundry, all beautifully appointed. The porch runs the length of the bungalow, and a wonderful spot to eat breakfast and watch the sunrise. You can see and hear the ocean, but a block off the main drag.  Blue Heron it is the most quiet, private, spotless, comfortable place of the 6 we stayed in NZ.  Susie and Billy have a lovely garden, and they graciously share their fruits and veggies.  They know everything about the area, so be sure to ask questions. You won't find a better deal  and such a beautiful accommodation in Kaikoura. It is about a 10 minute walk from the center of town, perfect. We could live in the bungalow happily.

Our family of four enjoyed Kaikoura and where very lucky to have found the Blue Heron to stay at, ,we stayed only one night but would of loved to stay longer, as it was fantastic for families, everything you need! Very clean great facilities!
We will be back!
