Argent Motor Lodge

Part of my Mother's Day present was a trip to Hamilton with my daughter for a Saturday night concert, a stay at the Argent, and a trip to the magnificent Gardens the following morning before returning to Tauranga. Now in my mid eighties, with some mobility issues, the owner thoughtfully pointed out any possible pitfalls I might encounter which was much appreciated. Never having encountered a 'triple sheeted bed' before I foolishly requested a duvet which, after later research, was totally unnecessary but which was provided without question, although it was actually a duvet inner. The two rooms were spotless and well appointed, appeared to be newly renovated with expensive fittings and furnishings. My daughter had the best sleep she'd had for a long time and was reluctant to get up in the morning. I would love to know more about the 'luxury fibre filled topper'they advertise - I would buy it for her in a heartbeat. We'd taken cheese and nibbles for the Saturday afternoon but had nothing to cut the cheese easily. Having taken the makings of our evening meal, we did encounter a few minor issues. I needed a spatula or similar for making a sauce to go with the gnocchi I had made the previous day, using a large metal utensil was far from ideal. Heating the garlic bread in the microwave wasnt my preference either but we had no choice. When we washed up everything we had used we could have done with a second tea towel as the one provided got far too wet. Overall it was a very good experience and one I am sure we will repeat in the future
