My stay at a motel in Gore, was largely positive, thanks to its impressive cleanliness and great location. The room and public areas were well-maintained, adding to the comfort of my stay. Its prime location in Gore made accessing local sights and necessities easy. However, the room could be improved with the addition of a bedside lamp, which was noticeably missing and would have been convenient for evening activities like reading. Despite this, I would recommend the motel for its overall value and comfort.

I have stayed in many motels throughout NZ, over 15 years. Riverlea in Gore has to be one of the best, if not THE best. You will get a lovely friendly, helpful welcome, the rooms are large, very modern with high quality fittings. It is set back from the road, so noise is kept to a minimum, except for the odd heavy truck. The curtains are nice and thick and give almost perfect blackout conditions.

Friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy facilities. Would definitely stay again.

One of the Best!

Very friendly welcome on arrival, with plenty of relevant material also available concerning local attractions.
Lovely large studio style room containing an exceptionally large bed and comfortable furnishings which made working at the table or watching television both pleasurable.
Wonderful; stocked kitchen which they ensured was provided with sufficient complimentary refreshments for the duration of our stay.
Bathroom was sufficiently large enough, as was the shower, with towels replaced daily.
Only niggle would be that the shower temperature fluctuated somewhat, although may also be due to the fact that the Motel was full, and it is just possible that many were using the shower at the same time. Only other niggle would be the very limited plunger mechanism of the complementary shower gel and shampoo bottles. In the end, we resorted to using our own supply. 
Great location. Very close to the retail section of Gore.
Despite being on a main highway, also a very quiet location.
We are already looking at making a return visit.

Southern Comfort

We rang the Riverlea motel and reserved a room for 1 night. When we arrived the room was ready and the heater already turned on. The room was lovely and bright and was clean and tidy. We had a peaceful night’s sleep and left in the morning feeling refreshed. We would certainly recommend the Riverlea.
As New Zealand is basically Covid free questions on distancing etc are irrelevant.

VERY GOOD MOTEL

My wife and I drove up and down the streets of Gore looking for a place to spend the night.  We tried the Riverlea Motel.  The price was good and we booked it.  What a shock!  The room was excellent.  It was more of a suite with a separate kitchen and living room.  Everything was perfect from the large comfy bed with an electric blanket to the kitchen with all we needed to make breakfast.  A jewel.

Surprisingly great

Just spent the one night here whilst travelling from Doubtful Sound to Dunedin. The room was spacious and very comfortable, the manager very helpful and the parking easy.The town centre is a short walk away with a variety of shops. It was here that I discovered supermarkets in Southland do not sell spirits and you have to get these from a liquor store.

Good place to stop-over in Gore

This motel was clean and tidy and beds were comfortable and warm. The iron and ironing board were used a lot by one of us who was performing at Gold Guitar awards. The paved area allowed plenty of room for vans to come and go .This is the best place we have stayed at in Gore in the past 9 years we have gone down to the awards.

Large group weekend

We had a over night stay after a lovely wedding in Gore. We had a very nice stay at this motel. It was very clean and comfortable. It was in a very good location for us. Booking in was very easy and the lady was very plesant and nice to deal with. The unit had everything that we needed. These units are very well kept for there age.

Nice stay at very pleasant motel.

Having got used to the usual NZ motels, we were amazed and delighted by the Riverlea. We received a warm welcome and discovered a spacious, light and modern unit, with a self-contained bedroom and separate bathroom. It was clean and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and supplementary heating in the main room, should it be necessary. Although located close to town, we eschewed the local restaurants and cooked in. It was great, with a dishwasher to help that clearing up. All in all, highly recommended.

A real gem!

One of the cleanest motel rooms I have stayed in. Everything we needed was supplied.Only complaint was the very uncomfortable couch which was a pull out bed and the actual bed which we felt like we had alternatively slept on a rack all night and thenbeen rotisseried.Not the fault of the motel but the wretched town clock bonged all night on the hour
