We enjoyed a short single night stay in a queen studio plus one bedroom unit at this property and were pleasantly surprised to find super easy walking and public transportation access to the downtown area while enjoying privacy and comfort in shady units recessed from a major street.  All rooms were clean, quiet and well-laid out. The kitchen was nicely equipped and the beds comfy. The host/manager was very welcoming as he collected us from the train station upon our evening return from the Coastal Scenic service. He gave excellent directions on local bus lines and airport shuttle services and graciously allowed us to store our luggage at no charge as well toured the Christchurch City Centre the following day before a late afternoon fly out to Queenstown. Would have enjoyed a longer stay at it is ideal for touring the City as a stand alone trip or in combination with others. Will look forward to spending more time here on next Christchurch City trip. Highly recommend for those flying in or arriving at Addington Station by train.

Conveniently Located - Affordably Priced"

I chose this motel for its location (close to train station, with courtesy pick up) and price as I was only staying overnight. But I wasn't expecting plunger coffee and hot chocolate supplies in my room or a bathrobe!  The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet and the owners were so helpful with recommendations for places to eat and the best way to get into the city (20 minute walk, although buses run past the door) and how to get to the airport the next day.  It certainly isn't flash, but this motel far exceeded my expectations.

Great value for money

This is an older motel but none the worse for that. It is back from the road so we could hear no traffic noise. The unit was very roomy and very comfortable with little extra touches like lovely bath robes and peppermints! There was even a carport which was very welcome as it was pouring with rain when we stayed. The heater had been put on so unit was warm on arrival. Pets were welcome too!

Great place to stay

Kind of an oddly decorated little place but I kind of liked that about it. Very close to the train station so perfect place for a night to catch an early train. They do have free transport to the train station but it's during specific hours. The staff were kind enough to set up a complimentary taxi for us since we had to leave before they had anyone available to drive us. Not exactly close to anything as far as sights, so I'd really only recommend it for train travel stop overs and for that it's perfect.

We arrived around 9.00pm at Christchurch Railway station to be met by our very pleasant Hostess who transferred us to the motel (at no cost) which was much appreciated. We were shown to a very large unit which, whilst being somewhat dated, was clean and comfortable although rather dark and dreary. Outside needed a bit of a spruce up.

Overall a great place for an overnight stopover..

QUIRKY but Roomy and Comfortable

My husband and I stayed here for one night because we had been on the TranzAlpine Scenic Railway from Greymouth and the final destination is Addington. I chose this Motel because it offered a free pick up from the Train Station in Addington. The Motel is an older style but very clean and tidy. We booked a small studio, it had everything we needed for a one night stay, but think if you were staying longer you would need to book a bigger room. The host was lovely and friendly.

Great Motel

Got a free transfer from the Train Station after the Tranz Alpine. The lovely owner pointed out various places on the short trip back to the motel. She took us direct to our unit and was really helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Motel is older style but quiet and very comfortable with really good beds. Only stayed 1 night but would not hesitate in recommending this to anyone looking for a good space (4 adults). The layout was good (2 x single beds in bedroom and 1 x Double in the lounge area.). Kitchen was long and narrow, well laid out and had everything you needed. Very clean and in a really quiet location, but so close to restaurants, bars, bus stops.
