We had the pleasure of staying one night in the cottage. This is cosy, lovely decor, oodles of hot water, comfy bed, excellent linens. Scrumptious continental breakfast included. Top notch. Fantastic hosts. The cottage is gorgeous, quiet, private, heaps parking. Sky tv. No need to do dishes as the hosts look after that as well. Highly recommend. There is an apartment as well and I’m sure it would be of the same high standard. Fantastic location.  

Thoroughly recommend Bonniebrook cottage. Elegantly furnished and spotlessly clean. Comfy bed and good shower. Breakfast is excellent with fresh fruit and Dorothy's homemade preserves and biscuits. Only negative is the lack of a kitchenette although they take your crockery/cutlery away to be washed each day. We found that opening up a foldaway table gave enough preparation space. Loved sitting on the verandah in the evening listening to the birds and admiring the view. The complimentary bikes were in good condition and its a lovely area to cycle around. Would definitely like to return. Ian and Dorothy have created a very special place.

Located bang in the wine country. Perfect for exploring the vineyards on a cycle. Charming decor with a lovely breakfast and all the privacy and remoteness we wanted. Dorothy was very kind and had useful tips to explore the region. This was the perfect way to start our South Island travel

We spent a night in the 2 bedroom unit at Bonniebrook. It was ideal for 2 couples as it is spacious. Also it has a lovely garden setting. The breakfast provided was very good. The owners were very thoughtful and helpful. It would be lovely to return for a longer stay and see the garden in spring. 

Situated right amidst the vineyards; Bonniebrook is a wonderful stay with brook running through the property that is lined up with trees and shrubs and lush greenery around. Dorothy and Ian, our hosts are a nice old scot couple who have amazing travel tales of their own; their road trips are legendary if you chance upon to spend some time listening. 

Their suggestions for wineries, restaurants and nearby places were very good and helpful. We stayed in the one overlooking the garden. It was cosy and good; continental breakfast was available along with tea and coffee. However, there was no functional kitchen or sink.

Stroll around on the property or take bicycle (available free) and explore the region. By car in 5 minutes, you’ll be in the heart of the town. 
We will recommend the following vineyards:
•	Te Whare Ra
•	Rockferry – plan to have a meal as well
•	Giesen – few of their labels are great
•	Nautilus – some of their offerings are superb 
•	Saint Claire 

Have a beer and sumptuous pizza at Cork & Keg pub; on weekends they’ve Champagne brunches, after 9pm you won’t get food barring sausages and onion rings but the vibe and atmosphere is good. Spend an afternoon at ‘The Vine Village’ shopping and on weekends you’ll have barbeque outside which makes it a perfect place to laze around.

Definitely visit the Rarangi beach and explore the nearby areas of Whites Bay and Robin Hood Bay; buy some art and if you’re driving then lots of wine! 

P.S. if you're buying wine then plan to buy Styrofoam boxes from Mitre or any other shop; at airport it will be 10x the price
