peaceful location. lovely villa. had sky tv. our villa had a washing line but no washing machine, which would have been handy. wifi not great so made booking next stage of our road trip hard. nice touch having hot tub for guests to use. hosts really easy to contact. would recommend but with caveats about washing machine and wifi.

We arrived her at 230 PM on Wednesday. Checking in via the phone we enquired as to checkin procedure. The girl on the phone said she would call me back on my number, sat in the car for 10 minutes before I called them back. Was given more through instructions by another individual I spoke to.

The units themselves were really comfortable, spacious etc. 

We found the reminder about doing ones own dishes cheeky, for $200 a night surely a dishwasher isn't too much, and a washing machine in the kitchen seriously?

the next morning we felt really rushed in cooking breakfast, washing dishes, putting them away and checking out before 10am

Other than that more adequate signage for Beach Hideaway would be a good idea. We had to double back at least twice and ask for directions from a pub/hotel up the road to which we were told "You're staying there? geez good luck"

I didn't question it. Other than the signage and lack of dishwasher the accommodation was amazing and I would definitely stay there again 

Both good and bad

Gorgeous tranquil accommodation. All amenities. Didnt use hot tub but looked amazing. Need to take spray fir the sand flies.

Really nice home, well equipped and smartly furnished in a beautiful quiet setting. It’s a shame we did not have time to use the hot tub. Lots to do in the area too. Lounge has view of sea in the distance and it’s surrounded by trees.  Make sure you have the key box code before arriving. It wasn’t clear on hotels.com that one would be required.

Wish we could have stayed longer

We stayed two nights here in November, and it was absolutely gorgeous.  All the facilities that you could ever need were provided, and the hot tub was an added bonus.  We loved how private and serene the two units were, however, would have preferred to be a little closer to the beach next time.  Thank you so much for having us!

Gorgeous wee hideaway!

Nice place ! Quiet with nice view. Everything ok - except the weather ;-)

We spent one night here, but could probably have enjoyed a much longer stay. As the name suggests it's in a very secluded spot, albeit just off the main road. Greymouth is about 20mins drive down the coast road. We were in the 1 bedroom house, which is next door to the 2 bedroom house (which was vacant when we visited). There's a separate hut with a hottub in it, and some nice garden areas too. The villa is well appointed and has pretty much everything you'd need for a short stay, albeit you obviously need to self-cater. We had a great sleep, and really our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer to enjoy the peace and tranquility for longer! If you're looking for 'off the grid' but not too far from civilisation, this is definitely somewhere to consider.

Hidden gem! Secluded hideaway close to Barrytown

Very spacious, tidy and clean cabin in nice location near the ocean. Shame the outdoor hot tub was out of action due to maintenance.

We arrived after dark - property easy to find and easy to access with provided check in instructions. Gas heater quickly warmed up the space and room clean and had all necessities for our one night stay. Well located near punakaiki for our visit to the pancake rocks in the morning.

Located near Barrytown on the West Coast. This is a good location for Pancake Rocks. The accomodation we stayed in was the two bedroom apartment, which had one queen bed and a twin room. The bathroom was a wetroom style ensuite but with access for the other bedroom as well. Towels were provided as well as some soap and shampoo. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of utensils and pots and pans. There is also equipment for the BBQ. In the lounge area there are two sofas, a table and a TV along with a gas fire. There is a large dining table with chairs for 4. The outside area has a decking and a semi private garden which housed the BBQ. The hot tub is down at the bottom of the garden and housed in a wooden hut. At the moment the lighting did not work and thus a lantern was provided. Access is via a key rather than a keypad. We did find the hot tub a bit on the cool side; it did say 40'c but having visited some other springs we felt it was colder than that.

There is a beach but it is over a muddy field. WiFi was said to be available but was not when we were there. This is via an extent company, however there was a signal and thus data including 4g.

Greymouth is around a 25 minute drive and Pancake rocks about 8 minutes or so up the road. There is a cafe there or a tavern further up if you don't want to cook.

Overall, well equipped, cosy and a nice stopover if you are coming to the West Coast.
