Great stopover on our way to the Picton ferry. Meal option was great, nice renovation, clean, tidy, comfy bed..Exceeded our expectations. Would stay there again. Recommended

Great scenic area. Wine tasting nearby. Hotel was wonderful and quiet.

Lovely place to stay, very clean and smart. It was good getting out of Christchurch and eating up some of the kms 😁

Amberley Hotel is our go to when we come to North Canterbury.  We know that we will always get a clean room and great service.  Very happy with our accom at The Amberley Hotel :)

Our stay was for one night for the purpose of getting people to Chch airport from Blenheim. The accomodation facilities were ideal for two couples at a reasonable rate. Facilities modern and clean.

Check in was esrly and done efficiently. Happy helpful staff. The room was very nice. Its a pub and had a restaurant as well which provided delicious food. The room was large, clean, and very comfortable with a well stocked kitchenette. Even had breakfast cereals in the cupboard with more available in seperate communal area which was also very clean and tidy. Bread, fruit, and milk all available to use The  eds were super comfyI would highly recommend this place to stay to anyone

A delightful hotel in a small NZ town. Great amenities nearby,, great room set ups (some with kettles, toasters etc). Loved the breakfast area of the hotel too, a great place to make toast/cereal if you’re up too early!

In a little town it was a really pleasent clean and friendly place

Parking OK. Location of reception difficult to find but once found, in the bar, ended up with a warm and guided tour to my room. Adequate sized room and after a little testing the necessary heating on a cold day, operated effectively. With a room at the front, overlooking the main SH 1, the windows could do with double glazing. The kitchen facilities worked after an explanation with most provisions for a continent breakfast in a central ‘kitchen’ then it was just ‘help yourselves’ and take to your room. Basic comment, I would stay again!

Mostly clean room. Bin hadn’t been emptied of a drink can and there was a ‘toffee pop’ biscuit under the chair. Shared bathroom which I didn’t think I was getting when I booked the room.Poor breakfast choices.Could not access the fire escape from the room as the window only opened about three inches. Frightening safety issue.The room booklet stated the restaurant was closed Monday and a Tuesday when in fact this was not true and had not been updated - I would not be surprised if people ate elsewhere as a consequence. One of the staff told me this was meant to be updated when the new owners took over last year but I thought this was a small detail which was sloppy and could lead to financial loss.

A pleasant surprise

As soon as you go through the entrance you feel welcomed by the staff. Great rooms, shared bathroom and the shared kitchen facilities were top notch and pristine. Even being on the main drag it was quiet at night. The food was amazing, generous and very tasty. Not a bad word to say about the hotel, will definitely go back and highly recommended if you want to stop outside of Christchurch

The Amberly hotel was a clean , well appointed hotel.  I stayed on a Public holiday.  When I arrived to check in, there were no instructions via email and the place was closed, there was a note pinned to the door giving the access code for entry to the building.  Then all the room keys were laid out in envelopes on the table which was visible from the glass front door, so anyone could have entered the building and taken a room key.  This made me feel unsafe.  There were no dining facilities, however there was free tea/coffee, toast and cereal.  Hardly anything was open in the town that day so it was hard to find somewhere to eat.  I could not access the TV using instructions given in the in room guidebook, I am good with tech.   On the bright side, the place was super clean and tidy, decor was quite new and  the bed was comfortable.

Wevhad the apartment which had an unusual configuration. We ate at the restraunt but found the food below standard. Overall the hitel was clean and tidy (recent renovation) inside was quiet with the windows closed but riad noise could be heard. Beds very comfortable. The TV's were an absolute mysteryneither of which i could get to work that was disappointing

The staff were excellent and the food also excellent. Unfortunately they checked us into a much smaller room than we had booked. After querying the room with the staff we were moved into the correct room- fortunately it was still available. The restaurant closes at 8:00pm which is a shame as there was a quiz night in the bar so no option but to go to our room. Be aware they do not serve breakfast any days which came as a complete surprise to us as it was advertised and even mentioned on the menu. The Operations Manager, who had only recently been hired managed things well and I’m sure he, with the staff, will bring the place to the standard that they and us believed it to be. We will go back again without a doubt as nothing out us off and all matters were felt with well.

An excellent and friendly hotel for an overnight stay.   While the bedroom was very small it was warm and comfortable, while the help-yourself kitchen with hot drink and breakfast items was an excellent idea.
