't Molentje

I have stayed here twice now as we go to Zandvoort every year. I have stayed in the room upstairs at the front with the huge balcony and the room at the back, no balcony but a very large room with great views of the garden out back and you can people watch at the train station. Firstly with this accomodations it is 2 mins from the train station which is great for carrying your stuff to your apartment and also for venturing out about by train, cab or bus. It is about an hour from Amsterdam but an easy journey and about 20mins from Harleem which is a lovely town to visit. The rooms in Pension Moletja are fabulous they are really well equipt with self catering facilitiies and have lots of space The room at the back has two large wardrobes and a hairdryer which the front room doesnt but the balcony makes up for it. They are also modern and spotless. Marcel the owner will give you fresh towels etc whenever you need, he is very friendly and approachable and happy to help with anything you need. Even though I have only stayed in the two different rooms this year he showed us round the downstairs basement rooms which were also amazing, it doesnt matter what room you get you won't be disspointed. There is a great garden area at the back and a seating area out the front to watch the world go by. Pension Monlentja is a 5 min walk to the center of town but there are shops, bars and restuarants on the way. There are also two large, cheap supermarkets in the town. The people of Zandvoort are the friendliest people ever. I may well retire there one day. However at the moment we come every year for a festival. The beach is 5 mins walk if that away and is clean and safe. There are miles of beach each with its own vibe. Bars and cafes all along the beach front. It is a very peaceful town though not for the party gooers, unless you go when there is a festival on one of the beaches. We have made some really good friends here and hopefully Marcel will have us back again soon. 100% reccoment Pension Molentja. My top tips: 1) You can't pay with card 2) Bearing in mind there is no reception and Marcel pops in and out (although always reachable by phone/ text) the main door takes some getting used to. The first year we stayed neither me or my firend could ever get in and had to ask passers by for help. This year we have it sussed pull the door towards you tight and turn the key alllllll the way to left. Enjoy your stay :)
