Droste's herberg

The 'Herberg' is located at a junction of roads in the middle of Twente. Though the view on the terrace is towards maize fields and cars on the road and the parking lot, you feel relaxed and at the country-side here at Droste. The owner is omnipresent and motivates his staff to show hospitality and friendliness. Because of the rural area, one might expect a traditional setting. On the contrary: open areas, bright accommodation, modern interior in the rooms and a lot of novelties such as a tv set that comes down from a rail on the ceiling above your bed. Clean but still cosy due to the links with the rural traditions (such as posting your small wooden shoes outside the door to indicate that you don't want to be disturbed) and the many spots were you can sit and relax. Small negative note: The door closers are quite powerful so the room doors shut brusquely and with some noise. But for the rest all is quiet during the night and the rooms are wide and light is all okay. Food at dinner or breakfast is local an tasty though nothing is sumptuous. Eye for detail and for just enough, one would say. The Herberg has a bus stop next to it and plenty of parking space. So no excuse of not being able to get yourself to this excellent place of tranquility and indulgence.
