Hotel De Stern

We arrived on Friday afternoon for a two night stay and managed to get a parking space close to the hotel. Parking is limited, so if there is no space, you can park at Kurhuis or Zwolsestraat and walk. We were greeted straightaway by the owner who gave us our keys and asked for our preference of coffee or tea for breakfast. As it was our anniversary weekend, we asked if he could chill a bottle of champagne that we brought with us and have it at breakfast the next morning - not a problem! The room was big and clean and had a beautiful table and chairs to have your breakfast at. The room faced the main street, but when you have the windows closed, you cannot hear the traffic, so that is good. Breakfast was served to our room at our chosen time of 9am, complete with our champagne and two glasses. Perfect! There was so much to eat, bread rolls, bread slices, eggs, fruit, and a selection of meats, cheese, butter, jam, peanut butter, honey, apple syrup and nutella - a typical and plentiful Dutch breakfast. Breakfast was also the same on the second day (minus champagne of course, we only brought one bottle!). The hotel is a 2-3 minute walk from the beach and is nearby shops and the tram stop which goes directly to Den Haag. Will have no hesitation staying here next time we come to Scheveningen.
