I was joining again the 2days walks in Blankenberge. a walking friend advised me about this hotel/pension; a first time experience and I will be back again. not too big or too small, quiet place, very nice landlady.

I wasn't expecting too much for my 30 euros, just something central, clean, comfortable and safe for my bike. I checked in to be told I'd be staying in a house close by, not the bed & breakfast I booked. Whilst my "room" was perfectly acceptable it wasn't in the position I had specifically booked so beware of this. I also wouldn't describe my accommodation as cycle friendly. The first place offered to store my bike was in the front yard behind a hedge. "Don't worry, the owner sleeps downstairs and hears everything". She might hear everything but is the 70 plus lady owner going to chase a bike thief down the street in her night gown ? I explained I was unhappy and they eventually agreed to let me use the locked back yard. Returning the keys for my 5 euro deposit on the morning I left was a bit of a hassle with the house not that close to the one I thought I'd booked. It would have made sense had I been allowed to leave them in the house I'd stayed. On the whole it was okay, you get what you pay for I guess. Would I stay again, probably not.

Just okay ?

We paid more than €60 for a twin room, and that was far too much for what we got : a tiny room, with metal frame beds, and linen with a strong cigarette small. the mattresses were good, though, and that might be the only good point in all this : the room was small and barely clean. There was only a sink in the room, and we had to use the common bathroom for the rest. The bathroom was OK, but the washing machine was on when we got there, and there were piles of clean(?) clothes waiting around... Breakfast was OK, with a good choice.
Another negative point is the absence of a locked facility to store bicycles for the night : we requested this in advance, but the only option was in a small, barely fenced area 100m away from the hotel.

Not good, and expensive

Friendly and helpful owner, good breakast, town centre. Rather cheep for a town like Sluis. 
Minuses: Shower in the kitchen, only one for all guests. Room is very small, no TV, no parking near the hotel.

Not bad.

Tatty & tired, with old, cheap, mismatched furniture (a lot of melamine, creaky old bed).  We also noted the piles of laundry stacked in (communal) bathroom/laundryroom, hanging over stairwell banister rail, draped over ironing board in upstairs corridor. Instead of promised 'covered bike store', we had to leave bikes in (uncovered/unlocked) backyard of nearby house (odd, since the pension has a garden with covered patio area, (presumably) accessible by a gate to the side alley).
We were surprised to find that breakfast was 9-10am; however, we'd have done better to skip it and eat elsewhere.  We saw no evidence of any 'breakfast buffet': for two people breakfast consisted of two thin slices of brown and four of white bread (not overly fresh), a couple of slices of cheese and some wafer-thin slices of salami; a small dish of butter and a half-full jar of supermarket jam, a fruitbowl with some tired-looking apples and oranges on the sideboard, and that was it.  No rolls, toast, juice, cereal or yoghurt, no choice at all except for tea/coffee, and we had to ask for refills of that; all served in a very offhand manner.
We were very glad to leave.
