Hostel ROOM Rotterdam

My stay in the "Clocktower" (which is a private room with its own bathroom/shower, and sleeps 4 people), of Hostel ROOM Rotterdam was incredible! There was a slight problem with the air conditioning turning off after a short while and refusing to turn back on, but the staff addressed this problem and had someone come out and fix it. Incredible views with your own balcony. The room had two large "porthole" windows (with covers so you could get the room pitch black at night). The staff was so friendly and helpful. The common areas of the hostel were nice to be able to just chill and meet new people and have great conversation. Laundry facilities are downstairs are adequate and convenient to have. As of this review's date, it was $5 per load and included detergent given to you by the reception/front office. ROOMS: The room's primary bed (three beds total) was very comfortable, not too firm (hard) and not too soft; just right for me. Plenty of outlets to charge your electronics along with coffee and tea included for free in the room. There was also a small refrigerator with some beers (that do cost money), and with room for additional things to store. Lights are available at each bed, and there is also overhead lighting as well. A record player with some records is also included -- very cool! NEARBY ACTIVITIES: Splashtours is located pretty close (15ish minute walk). See the reception area for flyers on things to see and do! SAFETY: The entire hostel is protected by an electronic lock and staffed during specific hours (check their website). Outside of those hours, the front door is locked and you are provided a unique code so you can get in after hours. The rooms are protected by an electronic lock and are provided a unique code to get in. You can also use the "Goki" app to let yourself into the room. Talk to the reception/front office or the email you received for more details about this. WALKABILITY: Everything is very flat and there is also a tram right outside as well. There are lots of great places to walk to nearby, like the harbor or the Splashtours. FOOD & DRINKS: There is a bar onsite, right next to the reception/front office with great beers. Breakfast is also available for purchase and there are also various pastries available for purchase as well. Also, a yummy pastry shop is located just down and across the street (<5 walk). There is also a nice steakhouse located next door (probably pretty pricey though) as well as other options within walking distance.
