We spent 6 nights in this lovely small hotel. We were in the area to see the Tall Ships Race in nearby Harlingen. We were without transport but the bus service was adequate. The owner Elina was more than helpful and the meals we had at the hotel were great. The village of Kimswerd is so pretty and we were lucky to be shown the village church which was very very interesting. A lovely area of Friesland and would recommend this hotel.

Great find

What a charming, comfortable and gracious B&B experience this was. The owner, Elina, is a very capable innkeeper and marvelous person. She went out of her way to suggest local attractions and even hooked me up with the local storyteller/historian to tour the parish church and grounds and learn about some of the history of Kimswerd. My only regret is having spent just one night here. In the future, I would stay for several days and use it as a base.

Unforgettable

Simple but tasteful decoration. Well-equipped rooms facing south in a quiet area. Excellent heating. Patronne - charming and multilingual cook (Dutch, French and English at least). Modern and traditional cuisine inventive and excellent. Good choice of wines and water. Carefully selected products and some organic. Generous and delicious lunches. Discovering new bread. All at an unbeatable price/quality ratio.

A Delightful Hostel in a Beautiful, Acceptable Area

My wife and I spent 2 nights at this hotel, which is really a very quaint B&B, set in a very small and pretty Fresian town. We had the front bedroom, which was perfect for us. The welcome was wonderful, and the service good. The old furniture and mismatched chairs gave the place a certain charm. The area around Kimswerd is the most beautiful part of the Netherlands in my view, and the nearby town of Harlingen is very pretty.

Bijou B&B

My partner and I stayed with our small dog in this quaint B&B a couple months ago. It was in the middle of a very small village, but easily reached with public transportation. The dinner we ate was a 3-course-meal made of all local products (as was our breakfast the following morning). The room was comfortable and public transportation made getting to nearby Harlingen easy. We also took a long walking route through the meadows nearby and felt far away from our normal hustle and bustle. We definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for a weekend of rest.

Fantastic weekend in Friesland

Beautiful hotel, feels like a B&B due to the small number of rooms and the excellent service from the owner. Fully renovated and full of charm. As I understand it was originally an old inn from 1860. It is located in a very small, quiet village but it is very close to Harlingen and the ferry to the dutch islands (Terschelling, Vlieland, etc.). It is also on the route of the famous dutch 11-city-tour (the worlds largest and longest outdoor speed-skating event conducted on frozen canals, rivers and lakes between historic Frisian cities). 

We arrived quite late in the evening and got a warm welcome. The owner showed us our room and invited us back downstairs for a glass of wine. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean (we stayed in the 'grote voorkamer', a large room located at the front of the hotel). In the morning we enjoyed a nice breakfast. It was still a little cold outside so the owner placed some wood on the fireplace, very cozy. We will definitely come back to this hotel.
