We stayed for a week in July. Our studio was well equipped and looked out over the Main Street and the sea beyond. On Tuesday there was a street market just outside. We went to Leiden by boat and to Den Haag by bus. It is also a lovely trip to go to Texel an island further up the coast. You can go by ferry from Den Helder for 2.5 euro. Texel is a lovely island with a very good range of shops.
Our only complaint was the lack of an oven for self catering.
We also tried the fish and chips in the square and they were excellent.
The Nicolette apartments were ideally placed for the delights of Holland.

A lovely little town

This place was amazing from the host, to the cleanliness, to its location!  It felt like home, the bed was comfortable, the pillows were great, it was very nice having a table and chairs as well as a couch.  The towel warmer in the bathroom was divine; nothing quite like drying off with a warm towel.  The host met us at the property and explained everything and even helped us out with some directions.  Super close to the bus lines, super close to grocery, beach, bicycle rental...even church if that's your thing.  If its not you will certainly enjoy the church bells.

If you get a chance to stay here...DO!!!!

Excellent self-catering apartments in the centre of Katwijk by the beach boulevard.  Joost and Nicolette were very helpful and encouraging.  Clean apartments with everything needed for a holiday.  All at a reasonable price.  Can strongly recommend.

Wonderful stay at Nicolette Apartments

This little hotel/apartment is perfectly placed near the strand in Katwijk, close to everything.  We loved our stay there.  The rooms are small, but they have everything you need.  We loved the little kitchenette, but we went to a few restaurants as well during our stay.  This is a lovely place for strolling on the beach or through the town, or out on the dunes.  And Joost and Nicolette are very nice, helpful people.

For the price ... Excellent

Our parents stay at Nicolette every spring for 5 weeks and for us Nicolette presents the perfect base to enjoy Holland. Situated right on the front - you can see, hear and smell the sea. The apartments are ideal, small but perfectly formed, clean and very well equiped. The beds are very comfortable and Joost and Nicolette (proprietors) make sure guests have everything they need. We had our bikes with us and went off on a variety of day trips - the cycle path network in Holland is amazing we took the scenic route through the dunes to Delft and Leidendorp. We cycled through the forests at Garderen, We visited Zaanse Schans, Amsterdam ( Artis Zoo) and Harlem. We were lucky and had very hot, sunny weather and even had a dip in the sea ( very refreshing !). The shopping in Katwijk is excellent with plenty of high end shops all easily accessed on foot from Nicolette.
We will return to Holland in 2013 and stay as usual at Nicolette. If you stay here we recommend 'De Zwaan' restaurant - delicious food and stunning veiws.
