Great place to stay, helpful host, nice areas to walk dogs, shops nearby, fantastic breakfast

extremely polite & welcoming owner. Kept reception open until I came later at night. Thanks!Rooms and in general the house have a certain age, but then again it's not a 4*-Hotel.The breakfast ist simply WONDERFUL and it's by far better than in many mor  expensive hotels. Really nicely set up at the time you want it, very nice.Would recommend this place without hesitation!

I stayed for two nights as a business trip. I found the service to be excellent while I was there however the rooms were hugely overpriced for what they are. I have stayed in similar places where's I have paid €30-40 per night however it was €70 per night plus taxes here.

Great service disappointing rooms

The bed was too small. The room smelled badly! The toilet flush occasionally worked. TV reception was bad, blocky screens!

Just Forget it. The most terrible Hotel I had the last 10 years if not more. On the street side you will not be able to sleep. And you will think about it twice before you dare to do anything in the bathroom. The owner needs to invest/renovate the rooms urgently if this should still be named as "Hotel" (when the owner mentions the TV is new...well that's the only thing that has been done since ever?). Note as well that walking ot the beach to find a restaurant can take ages depending on the season. I would never go again, even the price is not cheap for what you get.
On the positive side the weather was nice and the Restaurants are really nice.

Not renovated since the 60s?

Friendly family hotel more like a B-and-B given the lack of permanent reception. Comfortable and clean enough. Breakfast is freshly cooked and up to the very high Dutch standards. Overall good value. A pleasant 15-minute walk from the beach which is OK if not great; but it has a good choice of 'beach clubs' in summer for eating and drinking in the daytime and early evening. Also 15 minutes to Hoek town with its 2 cafe/pubs, pizzeria/kebab shop and AH supermarket. Handy for the ferry to Harwich of course. Some WW2 German bunkers, bike paths and footpaths through the forest and dunes, ship watching on the Maas seaway to pass the time.

In May we travelled to Hotel Nordzee. First look "small an calm". Inside there are only 5 tables for 7 rooms (no chance to take breakfast to the time you were ask for.We booked a room with a double-bed. But we had to combine both by our own. with different height of the mattresses.The cups were dirty and the windows not completly closed. On the day we want to check out, we had to wait 50min for our table to take breakfast. After that we payd and only had 10min to go. The man told us to keep calm and go when we were ready. But the wife wants us to go exactly at 11 o' clock.But we we have to say is, that the breakfast is perfext. We got tea or coffee, bred, fresh juice, fruits, cheese, jam etc. But that was the only thing that made us happy.. a total of we were disappointed from the family hotel. Espescialy from the cleanless.

Nice little hotel.. don’t expect 5 star experience but it enables a good night sleep. Road side of the hotel can be noisy though.

Business stay - near the beach 😝

Try and avoid this place, incredibly noisey,  you won't sleep, if you can avoid the noise, the ancient worn out bed will prevent it, mattress bigger than base, mine fell off during the night, cutting my chin open, the sheets are worn out, the wiring and sanitaryware are from the 60's, the shower head can't be adjusted, jammed in place by a self tapping screw, hot water takes ages to come through, shower mixer not fixed, the list goes on, I'm being objective but owners need to re invest not just take noney!

Think about other options first, park bench, police cell, Belgium anything

Dear travellers,
You need a good sleep and a superb breakfast....? Then look no further, rooms comfortable, including shower room. Only 10 minutes away from harbour, easy to find and walking distance to tow centre.
The best breakfast to higher category hotels to shame, incl cereals, various breads,cheeses, sliced meet, coffee and teas. You don't walk away hungry.
