We had a bit of trouble locating it as it is tucked away in the maze of tiny streets and lanes in the centre of the town. It is easier to locate on foot than by car. We were able to park in a parking area near the apartment for 2 euros per day. The management provided an all day ticket 9am - 6pm. Parking is free from 9pm - 6am. Tha apartment was spacious and comfortable with a small kitchenette (microwave, 2 hotplates, no oven). We cooked our own breakfast and dinner for the 2 nights we were there. There is a restaurant run by the hotel, but we didn't try it.The stairs up to the bedroom were steep and narrow (this is the Netherlands). There is a supermarket about 5 minutes walk away. Harlingen is a lovely port and surprisingly quiet, particularly at night. I went for a walk at about 9pm and hardly saw anyone. We were able to do washing in their laundry (8 euros for washing and drying a load.)

Spacious apartment in the centre of Harlingen

Our family of four stayed 2 nights in the "allergy free" apartment.  We arrived by train and walked to the apartment.  Check in was easy.  We found the apartment to be clean and spacious.  The furnishings were basic but pleasant.  We did not use the kitchen but it appeared clean.  The breakfast was a very nice buffet in typical Dutch style...the granola with chocolate was a treat.  The breads were very nice.  Space was not available at the dinner meals, but the owner was helpful in recommending lovely restaurants both evenings.  She was also helpful in providing ferry information and recommendations about what to see in Harlingen.  The hotel is a short walk from the town center and waterfront but it is a lovely walk which we enjoyed.

A Pleasant Stay in a Lovely Town

Spent one night here after a reuinion in town. Check in was very relaxed: there was no-one at the reception but when I phoned them they gave directions to the room and the key was in the room. Quite basic furnishings and bathroom. TV and free WiFi in the room. Did not take breakfast so can't comment on it.

Basic but spacious room

We booked at very short notice, we wanted to visit the island Terschelling, we were cycling and it had rained quite a lot! Not the best conditions. Our spirits were immediately raised by: the top class appartments, the very friendly hotel owners, the excellent service (dinner, where to go to buy things, booking ferry tickets to the best price etc). The evening meal on the first night was a fish casserole. Although we had not booked a table and we were quite late arriving, very good food and well served. We were asked what we would like the next evening and again we chose fish, salmon in vegetables. Very good too. Although it was August, the weather was cold and wet; the hotel heating worked wonders and we we able to set off warm and dry for the next stage of our tour. Thank you!
