B B B Haarlem

I’d give this 10 stars if I could. What a gem of a B&B. Wish our stay could be longer but unfortunately no availability beyond our dates. Gusta the owner and host is friendly, courteous, considerate, helpful and professional. She rents out two beautiful bedroom suites in her huge house that she lives with her grown family and two dogs. My wife, adult daughter and I rented these two rooms for two nights. The two rooms rented out are self contained and come with beautiful and tasteful decorations complete with new, modern high end bathrooms. Privacy is assured with no interactions with the host and her family. You also have the use of the beautiful garden and the breakfast/living room. The house is beautiful and is in a very expensive high end area of Haarlem. The neighborhood is quiet and gorgeous with a beautiful pond across from the house. Gusta makes a nice and simple breakfast for you and serves them in the breakfast room. Btw, Haarlem, for which the Harlem in New York City is named after, is a 15 minute train ride from the heart of Amsterdam or a 35-40 minute bus ride away. The bus stop from the house is only a 10 minute walk and the train station is about a 25 minute walk. Trains go everywhere from Haarlem. It is a great town with lots of shops, even more nice restaurants and a vibrant town square with outdoor cafes. I’d highly recommend staying in Haarlem over Amsterdam. I travel for a living and have been doing so for 30 + years. BBB Haarlem is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in. I’d stay here over a Ritz or Four Seasons but cost much more.
