Drentsche Golf & Country Club

As part of a golf package we stayed for two days at the Drentsche Golf & Country club and we stayed at the Golf Lodge.  Great room and bathroom.  Good beds, but two separate beds.  Staff are very friendly and welcoming.  Highly recommended.  We will definitely be back, also for the beautiful course.

Ok, firstly Neither I or my partner play golf, but we booked this location as “on paper” (or screen) it looked about the closest half decent hotel to the track. I either didn’t get my facts right or it was a bit misleading but it’s not as close as we should have booked.
The Golf lodge itself is apparently in a very “ expensive” property area. The site it self is lovely, with the staff being very helpful and polite. I have to say on our first visit to Holland/ Netherlands the people are just so polite, helpful and nice. Every single one spoke good English which actually puts us to shame. We thought this was just at the lodge, but it was the case everywhere we went over our weekend. 
Taxi from the airport... 
73€ yep! Didn’t see that coming. From right outside the Gronegan  airport terminal to the Golf lodge. It was then about 25€ to Assen station. We either went in town or caught the bus to the track on a local bus marked as “TT Circuit” that was about 5€ for the pair of us one way ( you can’t buy a return, but you can use the same ticket within half an hour)
On reflection the extra money we spent on cabs/ busses we should have spent more on the hotel and been in Assen centre or hired a car.
The Lodge room was basic in a good way. TV tea facilities extra pillows which I needed and my god! Best pillow ever lol. Clean Morden room.
Coffee machine with cups/sugar/milk in foyer for use (free)
Breakfast was continental with breads cheese meats fruits pastry juice tea coffee etc. We were asked if we would like an omelet on arrival and very nice. Ate in the evening, but I will give some advice. The food is fantastic and big. We ordered our food, then a local couple were sharing a meal which we thought was cute, but the size was massive. The burgers we ordered were lovely and .... big! The salad with it was great as well ( and I’m not a salad person) but would have been good enough as a meal in itself. So very pleased with the Golf lodge.
We also caught a train on the way back to the airport. The trains are 100% punctual.
On the down side the other half left her purse on the bus, but tweeting the bus company ( on a weekend) responded by saying they found it. Unfortunately we could not pick it up till Monday, but left Sunday. We have asked the company Qbuzz to post it back with us paying the costs, but not much joy as of yet. 
So great Lodge, unless you have your own car/ motorcycle not really practical for the TT. Oh and a long walk to any main road or public transport if any. 

Great place to stay if you want to play some golf in Drente. The lodge is simple but comfortable, spacious rooms, good beds, good shower. The golf course has 27 holes and an 18 par 3 course. It also has a good driving range, chipping area, practice bunkers and putting area. The restaurant is good and everyone working at the Lodge, golf course and restaurant are extemely friendly. They offer good prices for a two-night stay, 3 rounds of golf, plus breakfast and dinner!

Room had view over grounds from large floor length window. Comfortable beds and nice large shower.  Kettle and tea provided in room and free coffee machine downstairs. Breakfast and meals served at golf club which had a large patio overlooking the lake.  Staff really friendly and helpful.  We hired bikes near the station and cycled to and from hotel to town and tt circuit for moto gp. Took 50 mins to an hour to cycle along country cycle paths.

We have just returned from the 2014 Assen TT having stayed at the Drenthe Golf and Country Club.  We were pleased with all aspects of our stay - the rooms were very clean and comfortable, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent.  And it was lovely being in such a pleasant peaceful rural environment, and all just 10 minutes ride from the circuit.  A bit of a walk into town to join the pre-race party (1 hour!), but apart from that, can't fault it.

we stayed here as it was close for Assen racing circuit. The good thing is that they have a very good restaurant which opens early and stays open late. A nice menu and friendly staff. The beds were comfortable and the shower good. a quiet stay

We booked as part of a group clinic with our club pro to play the Drentsche and Gelpenberg GCs. The Golf Lodge is part of the Drentsche so by staying there you can maximum use of the practice facilities an immediate access to the course. The room was large and comfortable and the food and bar in the clubhouse were quite good. The only minor niggle was lack of golf channel on the TV, an obvious omission for a Golf Lodge

We booked the lodge as part of an interesting golfpackage (for the second time) and found it again very comfortable. The service of the staff is outstanding, very friendly and up to par. The lodge is part of a golf complex which hostst also a good restaurant for all venues (breakfast, lunch, dinner and comfort food).

We really can recommend the lodge and are going back again, we might see you there
