Very good
577 reviewsStayed for a few days at the end of June 2025. Hotel right near the famous Rijksmuseum, a five minute walk away, a must do. 397 bus from Schiphol stops a short walk away and is reasonably priced for the EU continent. Five minutes to Leidseplein and the famous square, CitySightseeing stand right outside, Spar(Dutch invention) shop a short walk away, sells essentials and fresh sandwiches and baked goods. There's no restaurant on site, so be prepared to eat out every night of your trip which in a city like Amsterdam, caters for every taste, culture and budget, but there is a small cafe called Coffee Boutique. I barely saw anyone in the cafe for obvious reasons but it's nice an in house bar exists. Be wary of serving times, it claims to be open until 10:30pm but last orders is usually before that. No need to be disappointed as there are also many bars nearby, especially in the Leidseplein area, there's a whole square with nothing but bars, I frequented four of them The room is gorgeous to walk into, bathroom is a little small but totally legit and doable, strongly advise to place a towel to block gap in door. Toiletries are provided but may not be suitable for everyone. No need to pack a towel as got by very well with what was provided. Best hotel bed I've ever slept in, so confirmable and firm. It was room 224 and I had a wonderful view of the front of Pieter Corneilius Hoofstratt and a slightly obstructed view of one of the towers of the Rijksmuseum which was nonetheless amazing. Plentiful USB sockets, HDMI by TV socket for any Amazon Fire TV/Chromecast sticks. Extra tea & coffee available, a box is keit in reception just finished for that, The "minibar" is actually a small enough fridge which you're encouraged to fill, which you could put a freshly made sandwich in there. There's Grab & Go by reception for that purpose. If not, the afforementioned Spar is available, so too are mavy of the local supermarkets, plus a nearby Lidl. Free WiFi around the hotel TV has some international channels(including ZDF, VRT & BBC), isn't a smart TV though. Again if you're not satisfied, the HDMI slot is available for your own entertainment(however it will be based on geographical location). CNN plays on the TV downstairs Breakfast can be purchased for €21.50 (at time of review), if it's not already included in your booking, you just go down to reception, give your room number and you're given a voucher to present to the server at the bar. Full continental selection, and some hot items including traditional favourites sausages & bacon, no beans though(not that I saw) . Everything is cooked in full public view, it's possible to see your eggs being cooked(it was only scrambled and soft cooked on my stay, however I'm quite sure you can ask for fried or poached). I only had it on one morning and was satisfied, the rest of the trip I partook in traditional Dutch hagelslag(sprinkles) from the local supermarket All in all, a very generous hotel and full of global people, every staff member speaks good English(as you would expect for Amsterdam where it's a second language for most) and they always endeavour to honour any request you have. General tips Amsterdam is becoming a cashless city, so you're going to want to make sure you carry a card with you, some places will still take cash though. It's a good idea to have both on you in this case. Might want to consider requesting an extra key card per person, you'll need to power the lighting, and
