We had a very enjoyable stay while we were in Amsterdam at Chariot Amsterdam on Singel (street and canal) First of all the location was near most of the really exciting sites, walking distance for us. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathrooms and showers all up to date. With the kitchen and dining area we had all out breakfasts and 3 dinners in. There was a superb, supper food store about 5 blocks away with one of the best selections of prepared foods. Fresh, chilled and frozen. Large bakery, good selection of meats, cheeses, fish, wine, everything. After a full day of sightseeing, putting our feet up and relaxing was our kind of fun. The view out the front window, the boats on the canal, the bikes, pedestrians, cars and motor scooters, was overwhelming for North Americans so used to a different life style. Something to write home about.
