But the best part of Siesta lies in its special care and guidance from none other than owner-cum-managing director, Mr. Gyanendra Lama. He is thoroughly involved in the day-to-day hospitality and individual needs of the guests, both within his property and when they desire to venture out and explore the surrounding. His advices were gem words for us, suggesting every detail and arranging for the best possible mode of travel, places to stay and activities to enjoy, with all words of caution. For a first-timer (and for a repeat travelers too) in Nepal/Kathmandu he can be conferred the title of The Host-of-Honour, the traveler can depend upon him, in true sense.
A meticulous planner and efficient arranger, Gynanendra has of late opened another hotel in Jyatha area of Thamel, under the name of Dream Nepal Hotel and Apartment and has been actively associated with adventure tours and treks organized during seasons across the vast landscapes , valleys and natural ecosystems of Nepal for some captivating experiences. Though we did not have a second chance to be his guests till now, we are sure he is rocks in all his other ventures as well. All one needs to do is to be Gyanendra’s guest for all exploration and leisure needs in Kathmandu and Nepal.
Direction: From Kanti path, take Tridevi Marg for Thamel, till Nursing Chowk and take a left from there, you arrive at the corner road for  Siesta.

Siesta  and Gyanendra : A One-stop Shop for Nepal Travel

This place is located in the middle of busy Thamel, tourist aerea in Kathmandu.

From this place you can reach shops and restaurants..the best thir eye--indian restaurant.

Staff is friendly. The rooms, we had a big room with private bathroom are ok. Electricity is the whole day and night because they use a generator.

We spent some days in this accomodaion. It´s basic but nice not directly  at the street. (street is very busy and loud)

You must ask for discount by the room rates.

I would go to this place.

Very friendly staff. helpful and informative. clean hotel and rooms. Hot water every night. Attached bathroom with working taps. Location can be noisy do use ear plugs. Good value for money 1000rs a night. Very handy location to Thamel. Hard mattress but that's common for Nepal. Working Wi-Fi when there's power. Overall good value friendly staff and a good location

Hostel is situated in the Thamel,so You can prepare yourself here on a trip to Himalaya. There is nice little restaurant nearby. Hostel is very nice, cheap and breakfast is in price. Sometimes bathroom is not clean enough, but in Kathmandu it doesn't matter;)There is solar hot water, but not all the day.
