Walvis Bay

We stayed 2 nights at Lagoon Lodge in Walvis Bay.  The lodge is huge and the room was perfect, very clean, spacious and wonderful views of the waterfront.  Our host Ilonka is very friendly and welcoming.  She helped us book our day trip of kayaking with the seals and the sandwich harbour tour by jeep over the dunes.  She has a wealth of knowledge in the area.  Breakfast was good and plenty of variety.  Highly recommended.

Excellent Stay

My stay in Lagoon Lodge was a very pleasant experience. Very prompt and friendly service, a clean room and the lodge has a super location overlooking the bay. 
I hope to return to this special place one day. 

Waking up with a Flamingo view

It's a lovely space right by the ocean which made my Christmas day very special. A lot of activities are available around in order to have a great time in Walvis Bay. I enjoyed the view and the simplicity of the lodge which gives a very warm and cosy feeling. 

Very pleasant stay in Walvis bay !

The lodge is really well places, calm, clean and just in front of the lagoon with perfect view. Anica is really kind and see organized for us the activites. It was really great ! We really recommand it ! 

A perfect stay

The young lady who runs this place is extremely friendly and welcoming . She really made the stay very pleasant. Breakfast is a lovely cold buffet, including a home made tart, with the option for hot eggs and bacon too. The room was very nice and immaculately clean and the shower was powerful and hot. Lovely view of the lagoon.

There seemed to be a pool which we weren’t told about and a large dog cam rover the the breakfast table one day but apart from these small things, it was great. I would stay there again

Nice place, nice views, lovely lady front of house

Previously owned by a Frenchman, who has recently retired. Chinese people have now taken over the lodge. Rooms are small, old fashioned and generally very cold. Dinner is not an option. Breakfast is ok but not great. Cigarette smoke can be smelled in the reception and in the dining room. Wifi is very weak. The lodge is too pricey for what you get. Its strongest asset is its location next to the lagoon full of flamingos.

Average accomodation

The lodge is like a three star property but for two exceptions: the view and the staff.  I had a top floor room overlooking the bay and it was very nice (not so much the second morning as a heavy fog rolled in and covered the area).  The people working there were very friendly and considerate.  The only meal offered was breakfast and only the freshly cooked eggs were any good.  This may be an example of best available.

3 1/2 stars really

Located conveniently with a great view across the lagoon this lodge offers spacious rooms with bright funky furnishing and interesting decoration.  The whole place is light and airy with a great breakfast area (and great breakfasts) centered between.

Clean, comfortable with a difference

It is a wonder full place to go and rest after a long days work. 
The people are friendly.
the breakfast were create with a great look out over Le lagoon.
I will visit there again for business or holiday.  

very clean and supper servise

There was a lot to like about this lodge.  The room was nicely furnished and cheerfully and tastefully decorated.  It was well lit and had a refrigerator.  Good pillows and towels.  It had a modern bathroom with a good shower like you would find in your home and plenty of places to put things when you unpack.  There is a good breakfast buffet, and the manager turns out full hot breakfasts.  And for a birder, there was the thrill of stepping our of my room in the morning to the sight of hundreds of flamingos in the lagoon right across the street.

So why didn't I rate it higher?  Because the manager has three dogs, and she leaves them out late at night, and they bark and bark and bark.  It makes sleep difficult, and if you do somehow fall asleep, you can count on being awakened again by the canine chorus.  Too bad -otherwise, it's a very nice place.
