Very good
49 reviewsA terrific little bed and breakfast located about a 10 minute walk to the centre of town! The bed and breakfast is located in a residential area of Swakopmund, meaning nights are quiet and peaceful. There is a major Shop Rite supermarket about a 10 minute walk from the B&B, a liquor store, Hungry Lion and a selection of other shops and convenience stores. I found everything I could need, just a short walk away. For such a small B&B (6 rooms in total), I was surprised at the spacious rooms, bathrooms and other included amenities. I booked a double room and it was very comfortable! The layout of the room was intelligently thought out to maximize space and movement. The room was furnished with a large double bed, a writing desk with a wall mounted mirror, two bed side tables with bed side lamps, a large fridge, a luggage bench, a wall mounted luggage armoire with hangers and shelving, a large dresser with drawers, which also served as a TV stand. There was a flat screen TV in the room equipped with quite a few channels in English (BBC, CNN, movie channels, Nat Geo etc). The room also came with a small electric kettle, and a tray with two mugs filled with instant coffee and sugar packets for making your morning coffee in room. Lighting in the room was soft and elegant. Should you require more light, the blackout curtains open up to let the sunshine in (the entire door was glass, letting in a nice light)! Windows could also be opened to let in fresh air. The bed was very comfortable! Perfect firmness. The bedding felt clean and new, pillows were luxurious, and extra blankets were provided for those cold evenings. I struggled to get out of bed in the mornings, since I was enjoying my sleep. I was in room 6, very close to the breakfast area, so wifi signal (password protected) was very strong and worked incredibly well during my stay. I believe the modem/router is in the breakfast room. My television signal was also very strong! The bathroom was very spacious, with a very functional design. There was a large walk in shower with glass door, a very modern western toilet, a nice sink, bathroom lighting around the mirror, and little glass cups on the shelves to hold your toothbrush and toothpaste. Ample toilet paper, liquid hand soap and fresh towels provided and changed daily. Housekeeping was wonderful - turned over my room every day, cleaned and restocked and replaced where necessary. Shower pressure and temperature were wonderful - a very nice hot shower on a cold Swakopmund evening, before settling into my bed for the evening! The staff and owners were so pleasant, always keen to meet the needs of guests! There are plenty of common areas in which you can have a seat and relax should you want to - a small outdoor courtyard, and a little breakfast sun room. Extra coffee and tea making supplies were also available in this room. The breakfast buffet was terrific and exceeded expectations. The buffet breakfast is served from 7-9am every day and includes: coffee, tea, bananas, muesli and other cold cereals, yogurts, a small but good selection of cold cut meats and cheeses, two types of breads and an assortment of jams, honey, maple syrup and margarine. Little plum tomatoes were also on the platter. You are also offered eggs and a sausage cooked to order every morning, and both were very tasty and fast to arrive! Overall, I had a terrific stay here in Swakopmund. I'm really happy I had decided to stay here for 4 nights - I had a very rejuvenating stay after 3+ months of long hard travel, and with many more months of long hard travel ahead. It was the perfect break for a much needed rest! Thank you to the staff for making my stay so enjoyable and comfortable. Terrific little B&B, absolutely recommend and definitely would stay again!
