Due to the horrible service!!! please improve your service especially towards the nationals. Our car was broken into and when we brought it up to management, they ignored us. Anything we were enquiring about fell on deaf ears.

Once again we had a very pleasant stay at this place, managed by Basil with a lot of warmth.
This is not a 5 Star- deluxe- Hotel.
This is Brandberg Restcamp!
Rooms in good condition, pool as well.
Cold beer and really good meals for good prices.
Surely we‘ll come back, thank you Basil!

Pleasant stay at BRC

Brandberg Rest Camp is simple but not rustic.  Our self catering apartment was very clean but almost nothing in the kitchen for preparing food. Despite being extremely clean, there were bugs in the apartment but that is what you get in the middle of a dessert and country side.  The bugs did not bother us in bed. Suggest keeping bags closed if bugs are around to prevent taking any unwanted 'pets' with you. The foam bed is extremely hard, felt like sleeping on a cement slab. The bar and restaurant area was nice and had good conversation with other travelers.  Service was good, food tasted good but preparation was a little unskilled i.e.not pounding meat for the schnitzel. 

Simple and nice rest camp in middle of the dessert

We booked this place because of all the interesting activities they advertise on their websites. We enquired several times by email about pricing but never got a response. When we checked in, the reception told us there was no activity, they did not even seem aware of what the website mentioned, they were not even aware we were coming despite booking months in advance. We were thoroughly disappointed as it was our only reason to stop at Uis! 
In terms of campsite: if you are looking for a simple clean camping, it is a good place. The facilities were clean, showers very nice etc. For us, after travelling for 2 weeks we only had campings with plenty of space between sites and were a bit taken aback by how very close we all were and unfortunately we had really loud neighbors who partied late into the night. We barely slept and given there were no options to do any of the activities we came there to do, we ended up cutting our stay short but the Reception staff was very apologetic about the noise and did not charge us the night we cancelled which was a very kind gesture (although the best would have been for the staff on site to regulate noise level rather than apologising the day after). 

Good facilities but disappointing experience

Clean and comfortable tented accommodation for if you want to sleep in a tent and not drag your own camping gear along. Clean and comfortable beds, power and water close by and toilets/showers a few meters away

The price was also very reasonable, just what we needed

We were very impressed with the place: is in the middle of nowhere but the food was surprisingly nice.
It was just a quick pit stop for our long day drive but the Greek salad was yummy and fresh and plenty, the glass of wine iced to perfection and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly…a nice stop in the middle of nowhere!

Restaurant review!

To many loose ends. Stuff standing around. The ready made tent could not lock and power did not work. Security low, dome cars were broken into duting the night. We had to do our own security. Abblutions, bar and pool area were good. The locals come to drink at bar, noice of drunk people kept campers awake, we had to make them quiet ourselves.

It okay not great

Stayed 2 nights in a room by the pool.  Room had A/C which was a God send!   Staff from check in to restaurant staff and housekeeping were extremely polite and helpful.  The place was undergoing renovation and it looks like it has been being renovated for a long time.  I wouldn’t take small children as there is lots debris all around.  Would like to visit again when the renovations are complete.  

It served its purpose. 

As a Pastor doing outreach to believers of Uis, faith Brandberg Rest Camp is really the place in the time of rest.
Every time, more than ones, we where amazed by their professional welcome and really make our stay a good one. They still busy upgrading and I know if they finished it will be good for all weary traveler's.

OUTREACH UIS

I stayed here often, at times for one week and others for two weeks, in the self-catering rooms (small and large), and the pool room. During summer and winter, and even lucky enough to experience the rain.
The setup is really nice in the large self-catering room. Full open plan kitchen (basin, stove/oven, fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and basic cooking utensils) and living room (2 extra beds, couches and coffee table), lovely bathroom and air-conditioned bedroom (2 beds). Each large flat has its own courtyard, which includes a lovely outdoor seating and BBQ/braai.
The small self-catering room is an air-conditioned bedroom and bathroom. With a mini fridge, kettle, tea cups and coffee/tea/sugar sachets.

WiFi available at the bar, which has the loveliest people working there and meeting new people/tourists are always fun. And there's nothing like ending your hot day with an cold draught. If you want to see fascinating memorabilia/collections, inside at the bar is the place. With photos, business cards, and other bits, plus there's a corner just for a beer collection.

The bar area also has a gorgeous pool, and a piece of white sand beach (perfect for bumming around in the sun, volleyball games and even zen gardening).

Remember there's breakfast too! A full breakfast early in the morning, lunch hours and dinner. The restaurant food has a nice touch, where Eisbein is usually the most popular meal. But I enjoy the schnitzel and chocolate milkshake too.

The owner, Basil, offers special sundowner tours. He'll take you to places to see the sunset going down the Brandberg Mountain, and can tell you the history and significance of Uis/Brandberg Mountain. Just organise early with him, and be on time, because in Uis the sun sets really fast.

Whomever is going to stay there, may you have a great experience like I did. A true second home for me.
