Some of the rooms are on the seventh floor. Many look like they have recently been renovated, but our one at the end of the hall left a lot to be desired. Spacious but with old and dirty furniture, bathroom with a lot of pipe that came out of the wall that occasionally threw water crumbs....so constantly flooded bathroom (discharge of air conditioners?). Very Spartan breakfast.

If there's nothing better...

We arrived at Golden Land, having booked a  superior family room for the four of us only to find out that we were being put in 2 separate rooms, despite having the emailed confirmation. With a great deal of difficulty in communication (which I definitely don't hold the accommodation responsible for) we decided to call it a night and just settle for what we were given. I must add the staff were very pleasant and friendly but it was irritating not being given what we booked.

The rooms were very basic and quite dirty, with marks on the wall and dirt especially under the beds; it left a lot to be desired. However it is important to consider this country is very undeveloped and hasn't really been westernised. This being said it is hard to compare this accommodation to any others in Myanmar as this was the first place we have stayed in since our arrival. One room had a double bed and a single bed all pushed together, the springs of the single bed made their presence known to say the least. Nevertheless the double bed was fairly comfortable.

Each room had its own en-suite, as promised on Booking.com as well as free slippers (naff pair of flip flops) and toothbrushes. The shower itself was pretty poor as it dribbled out of the shower head unless you had it on the coldest setting - which isn't necessarily a bad thing in this climate but I'd give it a 1 out of 5. One room had a lovely urine-looking bit of liquid on the seat 😷 We were placed on the 7th floor and the wifi was very slow in one room and non-existent in the other. 

In the morning we awoke to receive our free breakfast which we expected the usual bit of toast and conserves but were pleasantly surprised to receive a fried egg sandwich each!! This was the case for the following morning too. The staff put a table up in the lobby of the 7th floor which guests can sit around and meet one another. Although they didn't speak much English (hardly any to be fair) they were really nice and friendly, often joking around with us but I don't think either party really knew what they were laughing at.
