Diamond Lake Hotel Spa Ktv & Disco Bar

I think we were one of the first to stay at the hotel. There was lots of staff and they were very helpful. The rooms were clean and everything was new. The air-con worked great and views were great. When we were there they weren't serving breakfast but next time that will be apart of our cost. The cost is much better than many of the hotels downtown and by the airport. This hotel and service was an upgrade to some others I've stayed in Yangon with the price being better here. We plan on staying here and recommending it to others.

Never found a decent hotel in this price range near the airport until we found the Diamond Lake hotel. Now, always stay here when arriving Yangon after dark and before early departures. Bookable online but pay in cash 50 usd. Or book direct, ask for discount. Location is a nice, quiet neighborhood, stroll to local businesses and restaurants. High floors, with views, on one side can see airport tower, yet no plane noise audible. Breakfast and access to their disco karaoke included. It would get highest rating but they need better (and more romantic) lighting in the rooms.

Brand New hotel

I stayed at Diamond Lake hotel for 4 nights - mainly because the hotel was within walking distance to a family I was visiting.  The cost was very reasonable at $50/night.  The room was very spacious, very clean and had a spectacular view of Yangon.  The staff were very courteous and friendly.

I would have rated this hotel as VERY GOOD but I am going to rate it as AVERAGE for one main reason.  The Wi-Fi service they have provided me as plain VERY SLOW - it was garbage and this NOT acceptable for this day and age.

Bare Essentials

We had stayed here in February, 2017, and wrote the first Trip Advisor review for this hotel, and had planned to stay here again during our next visit in January, 2018.  This time, it was a disappointment.  They had just opened an adult type business that took entire two floors above the lobby floor, and that business spilled over into other rooms throughout the hotel.  Let's just say we saw sights and heard sounds in the elevators, hallways, and nearby rooms that would be good if we could unsee and unhear.  We decided to leave the next morning, before breakfast, and stay elsewhere..

Disappointing since our previous visit

I have been here for 10 days. This hotel just opened. The first few days were good. However things are changing fast. They allow smoking everyplace in the building. It is disgusting! Smell of smoke everywhere. Ashes on the floor in elevator,main lobby, carpeted hallways. They should have no smoking in these areas and have certain rooms that are for smoking. It wont be long before the nice rooms here are destroyed from the smoke. Room service started out well. However three days they failed to clean my room. I had to remind them on each of these days. One day even after reminding them they didn't bother cleaning. Breakfast buffet started out well with a girl serving coffee. This came to a end and it was help yourself. The food taste good but small selection. Some morning they didn't even have eggs or bread because the staff forgot to get it. They have air condition in the eating area however they never turned it on once. Your shirt is soaking wet by the time your done eating. Some days they didn't even open the windows. One elevator is already broke so it's a long wait to get to your room. This could be a great hotel but they need to make changes! The smoking is the biggest problem at this place!!!
