I stayed in a riverside bungalow and really enjoyed. Spacious room with seperate bedroom and terrace, nicely decorated, comfortable and well equiped. A good value for the money.

The location at the riverside is good, many places in downtown Mawlamyine are in walking distance (market, pagodas, night market...). Stuff was very welcoming and helpful. They arrange every kind of transport like local Tuk-Tuks or train tickets (without any surcharge!). 

Beakfast was local as usual. The restaurant at the riverfront is nice for a sundowner, food was avarage nd to expensive. For better dining visit the night market. Wifi was very good and beds are comfortable, not as hard as usually.

Sunset view from old Murugan temple (Hindu temple - have to climb steps) across the river was priceless!
 Tuk-Tuk driver took us around for full day.

Splendid Views and service 

Spotlessly clean, small but new fittings in bathroom - very nice. New mattresses - firm and comfortable ( please put mattress covers on under the sheets) New aircon - quiet and effective. Out side chairs and a place to dry a bit of laundry ... lovely large room.
Pay a bit extra and book Riverside room. 
The breakfast was very good and coffee spot on.
The Restaurant is on the River and provides a wonderful sunset spot - please get in a great chef, create a bit of a charm with plants, screening .... music. It could be sensational.
Highly recommend. Have a drink here but eat else where.

Location, location, location. Fabulous!

I can’t thank Thushara Samaranayake and his assistant enough for the help he gave me. The driver who dropped us at the hotel drove away with my walking stick in the boot of the car. I can’t walk far without it and was extremely worried how I would cope. The manager sent his assistant on his motorbike to try and catch the driver. Unfortunately he was not found. The manager then arranged his assistant to take me to a shop to purchase a new walking stick. These people went out of their way to help me thanks to them they saved the holiday for me. The manager had recently taken over management of this hotel he speaks good English and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is in a ideal location next to the river and fantastic view of the Sunset. The hotel is very good value for money and I am so pleased we chose this hotel.  I would have liked to have stayed longer. 

The hotel manager and his staff went the extra mile to ensure nothing spoilt my stay

We had an "inner side" bungalow which was very comfortable and quiet. We stayed four nights at the Attran. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We had a power failure once but Attran's emergency back up power came on stream instantly. Early morning gaze over the misty from the hotel grounds was memorable. Very impressed with a hard working manager (Thusara) who was found watering the hotel plants himself in the late part of the evening. Thusara's touch of marmalade at the breakfast table was much appreciated by my wife. The costs of the accommodation was also very pleasingly modest. We are visiting Mawlamyine again and Attran will definitely will be our choice.

Riverside beauty.

We had an excellent stay at the Attran hotel this January! not only the rooms are comfortable with private balconies with amazing views, but staff is very helpful and the vibe of the hotel is really beautiful as it is one of the first hotels in town. Amazing location at the riverside to enjoy your breakfast and ideal for dinner and sunset cocktails. River is so beautiful!!!  We hope we visit again. Thanks Thushara and everyone! a wonderful stay with special thanks!!!

We stayed 2 nights at the Attran. As stated in other reviews the hotel is set next to the river and the outside deck area is perfect for sunset drinks . Our room was large with a seperate sitting area and a lovey outside area to watch o river action. The shower was great and the bed although typically firm was comfortable. The food was good and the staff attentive. 

The new manager is keen to improve the accomodation and this will benefit the hotel as the rooms while clean are very tired and do not reflect the price charged. Improving the wifi system would be another way to increase the coustomer experience as it was very weak in the room and passwords needed to be changed daily. 

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to others

Comfortable hotel in a great location

We stayed for two nights in this waterside location in a semidetached lodge overlooking the river. The accommodation provided a large bedroom with separate lounge area and small balcony, there was a good shower room which had been refurbished relatively recently. The artificial lighting in the rooms is good, almost to good, and a couple of bedside lamps would be a nice addition to provide softer lighting at bedtime.

The terrace restaurant Provides an agreeable location for evening dining and with a wide ranging menu.  Breakfast is served inside and offers a mainly local cuisine.

In summary, the hotel is well located, albeit rather tired and will require significant investment if it is to compete with newer competition.  The menu is adequate and of good quality but not fine dining.  The recently appointed manager, Thushara is however a big plus for this hotel, giving a personal welcome to all the guests, ensuring that they are comfortable and he is working hard to drive up standards.
