Excellent value seaside accommodation. Room offers stunning ocean views and is well-maintained. Cleanliness and comfort are top-notch. The hotel's upkeep is evident throughout. Highlight was enjoying breakfast on the terrace, taking in the morning seascape. Considering the price, this hotel is an outstanding choice for travellers seeking quality and views on a budget. 100 quid mark

A really nice hotel next to the port

Beautiful Art Deco Hotel with amazing ocean views. We have been to over 100 countries and this Hotel is great value for money in a perfect location.

The rooms are excellent with air conditioning, great shower, hot water and a nice bed with good linen. The restaurant and bar are great and sunset with a glass of Portuguese wine was perfect.

Hotel Dona Ana Vilanculos is a delightful heritage hotel with a fascinating love story between Dona Ana and the owner that adds a unique charm to its character. We had the pleasure of staying in a superior room with a circular wall and a breathtaking view. The breakfast was enjoyable, and it’s evident that they are working on enhancing it further.

The hotel boasts stunning vistas, and the vintage 1950s/1960s decor adds to its special ambiance. The combination of history, aesthetics, and warm hospitality makes Dona Ana Vilanculos a truly memorable destination.

Take aways take 2 hours for a pizza. Staff is unprepared though helpful.

Poor service and expensive.

We asked for invoice but no invoice. 

Will have to ask management.

For a great hotel name, my expectations were too high. 

Truly disappointed.

We ordered 2 waffles. We received 2 waffles after one hour without ice cream and cold. Payment ? 800mt for the waffles.

The room was great, service too, the restaurant for dinner quite good, the breakfast poor, the bar superb: in style especially. Beautiful garden, good pool. Just don't book an excursion at reception or you will pay way too much. The bathroom in our room had the worst lay-out I have ever seen. Bad choice of room I suppose. Conclusion: in some aspects this hotel was very professionally run, in other aspects not at all.

Great hotel with a superb bar

Very bad hotel management. They don't inform properly regarding the room specifications and are always looking to charge extra. No cribs are provided by them for kids therefore this hotel isn't kid friendly. Beware with the restaurant too as the food is served after 2 hours. First day and very bad impressions on the staff and no consideration for the customers. 

Bad Choice.

My son ordered a prego from the restaurant at about 11.30 in the morning. It looked good, but after only one bite into the prego, he was so sicked by the food that he could eat no more.  The meat was cold, the bread was wet and soggy. He was so put off the meal and lost confidence in the restaurant that he could not eat the chips, or salad, or even finish the coco cola, worried that the ice may be bad.  We complained to the waiter but he could do nothing without the Manager's approval, we we paid and left.  We had intended to return for a meal, while we stay in Vilanculos, but this experience was so bad, that we will not and feel we should warn others who may consider eating there.

Warning to others thinking of eating in the Dona Ana Hotel

The accomodation at Dona Ana Hotel is wonderful and the hygiene is top class. The hotel also has a nice view to the beach and everthing in the room is clean e.g beds, desks etc.
Dona Ana Hotel is highly recommended from me.

Wonderful Dona Ana Hotel

We went to play there for Downwind Vilankulos, its a meet up event between the kite surfers´and we played at the end of the night. The accommodation was TOP. The staff was very friendly and the food very good also.

The Beach

i been visit this hotel a lot for the pas years, as usual last minute i decided to fly to again and show vilanculos to my girlfriend,due they rules of booking up to 5nights on price on 210usd i stayed in resort paying 260usd/night that was over the budget but enjoying the stay.
i went on the night of 29 asking for 3 nights accommodation then one man didn't even approach from far as he was told me very loud no room,,,, i accepted and i went to the bar with my friend for drinks. he followed us and offer a room for 100usd, happy we accepted as we wanted to join the beach party next day of 31 Dec.
in the morning i call the hotel to inform my check in time due my boat trip to Bazaruto island. we came back at 4pm tired with our luggage, on check in and the reception told us that we have a room checked in with my name on a price of 100usd,but they couldn't check us in without Jalan permission. i called him, i saw him passing i was following to explain me he was very rude loud and talking to me badly in front of people at the reception. the he asked me if i want to stay i either pay 240 per night. i decided to leave not for the money issue but the way he treated me in front on people and in special my friend. i spend the night of 31 at Beach lodge luxury and pleasant  place to be. My friend and i enjoy even with highers rate was the best choice.
This Dona Ana hotel need a white manager to make things work, im not racist im Mozambican i travel a lot and i can see the difference when a white manage a place.
