Riad Lamane

We spent the night here on our way to the Sahara Desert. Although it seemed to be "low season" and their were few guests, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was amazingly spacious, and allowed us to spread out and reorganize for the next few nights in the desert. Food was tasty and promptly delivered. The riad was in the process of construction on part of the grounds, but there was no big construction noise to disturb the peace of the grounds and gardens.

Very clean and uniquely designed property. Easy check in. Good evening meal options. Breakfast was 95% carbs but was delicious. Pool water was a little murky but had a great swim. Rooms were very ample and great water pressure and AC. No complaints really!

We stayed here after our excursion to the desert camp and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. We stayed in an African chalet which was very spacious and a refreshing change after all the classical Riad rooms we had stayed in. The pool is great to relax and the whole property has a lot of plants and areas to sit and relax. Food was good too, although choice was a bit limited due to the fact that it was off-season. Nice staff speaking many languages and making sure you have a nice stay.

Rooms are spacious and elegant with two large twin beds forming a king size bed. Rooms are clean and have good heating.

Separate shower/toilet alcove with plenty of hot water.

WIFI was also good from rooms closer to dining room.

The dining room had a wood fire and was elegant with delicious tajine to match. Breakfast was not as good though as based on sweet cakes and biscuits. You could get hard boiled eggs but no yoghurt or salad.

Service was friendly and helpful. You truly felt like an honored guest.

Nicely arranged rooms throughout a windy courtyard. Small pool, lots of cozy sitting areas, nice bar area-alcohol served, comfortable outdoor dining room and good food. Rooms clean, spacious and nice linens. Only 1 glass in room, many hotels do this, not sure why. Internet poor in our room in back area, need to move closer to central area for it to work which is a bit inconvenient. Hairdryer in room, comfortable beds. 


Spent 1 night here after spending a few nights in the desert en route north. I would have liked to have spent longer here. It is more of a hotel than a riad. We had one of the cabins, great size, very clean, comfy. It was so relaxing we did not go and explore Zagora, we ate in and the food was delicious. I loved the way this place has been decorated, lots of recycled items (check out the adjoining Africa complex, its a trip!) Really beautiful place. Would definitely go back.

I stayed the night in one of the bungalow suites.  It was huge, super clean and beautifully decorated.  Great king bed and linens.  Our breakfast and dinner were included and both were very good.  The grounds/compound has alot of fun areas to sit and relax and some really unique decor.  I thought it was great

Really enjoyed our stay at this riad which is really a beautiful hotel.  Lovely large rooms with an outdoor pool which we did not use since it was January and cool.  The service was excellent and the breakfast was the best we had in any hotel in Morocco:  breads, pastries, fruit salad, eggs, many different teas, pancakes, etc.  The rooms have roof top patios which overlook the date palms which sorrow do the property.  Highly recommend a stay here for a bit of luxury in the desert and date palm area.  

We staid a night in this splendid Riad. The very large & comfortable rooms, in fact private bungalows, offer a kingsize bed, nice bathroom, little terrace, .... We had lunch & dinner there and the service is just nice, friendly & professional. We took a swim and relaxed in the garden which is well tended. I also enjoyed a hamman/massage by a very professional & friendly lady. I recommend it as you come out of it very relaxed.

My wife and I stayed here just one night in late April, ‘19, after spending the previous night in a desert camp.  Quite a contrast, to be sure.  The Riad Lamane is an attractive resort-style hotel with bungalows spread over extensive grounds and beautiful landscaping.  Quirky, colorful artwork and metal scultures are everywhere, all based on an African Zulu theme.  There is a attractive pool, indoor/outdoor restaurant, bars, lounge areas, etc., etc.  The riad is set in the oasis section of Zagora, about a ½ hour walk into Zagora center.  There aren’t many shops or restaurants nearby.

Our room (suite Keita) was huge and attractively decorated.  It had a very firm king bed with oversized pillows, an armoire, desk, a small sitting area with 2 chairs and a coffee table.  The stylish and attractive bathroom had an unusual semi-circular shower with a fresco scene in the wall.  There were a couple of maintenance/design issues that detracted from the room – the lighting was quite dim, the toilet wouldn’t stop running, and the small fridge wouldn’t work.  Since we were rather far from the older main section of the hotel the wifi was a bit iffy.

We considered eating dinner at the hotel but the menu wasn’t that interesting.  We wound up at a smaller riad a short walk away across from the only other large hotel in the area (go to the “Camel” roundabout and turn left).  Breakfast was so-so and served in the open area part of the restaurant which was uncomfortably cold at this time of year.  Perhaps it was because we were a bit off-season, but the food and beverage service didn’t seem to be up to the standards of the rest of the hotel.

The Riad Lamane is certainly a unique and attractive place.  Its downside is also its positive feature – it is somewhat isolated and a bit over the top for a town on the edge of the Sahara.
