Maison d'Hotes Dar Aissa

We enjoyed a beautiful 2 days in Telouet and stayed one night at Dar Aissa. Aissa is the most helpful, friendly and warm hearted person we've met in Morocco. He can show you the walking trails, might guide you around in the surprisingly beautiful Kasbah of Telouet or help you arrange a taxi. 
The amenities are basic, but clean and cosy, dinner is great. There is no heating in the rooms, but there's plenty of warm blankets. 
The house is located in the center of the village, with a view on the Kasbah from the roof.

Beautiful setting looking towards the Kasbah, this family run place is as authentic as it comes, within the farm houses of the village. Aissa is a caring and considerate host and as we came in early February it was cold at night, he made us a fire and made sure we had extra blankets. The food was freshly cooked by his sister and was the best we had in Morocco, we were then walked to the Kasbah the following morning and given a great tour by one of the friendly neighbours Hassan. Must be seen during your Morocco visit as the artwork and history is great and they desperately need funds to restore the Kasbah.

I stayed 2 nights in Telouet at Aissa's guest house during 11/2021. The price was 200 for the night with breakfast and diner. 
The house is basic and was pretty cold during this time since Telouet is located in the  mountains. There was no heater but plenty of blankets in the bedroom. Hot shower was available on demand. The atmosphere is similar to a mountain lodge.
Dar Aissa was a very nice host, providing me a tour of the Glaoui Kasbah and organizing a guide for the near by mountains.
I had a comfortable overall stay.

Comfortable stay in a rustic house

Beautiful and authentic, charming and friendly!

Authentic friendly experience with great food.

The reviews have been very kind, probably reflecting the attentiveness of the host, who kept popping up around telouet wherever we were (it isn’t big), and got us into the Kasbah’s beautiful apartments late in the afternoon when the light is superb.  

We paid 110 each for a room.  If you need to stay in telouet, then fine, but this place is very basic.  That is charming in some ways.  

The room was hot, the furniture v basic, the shower cleanish but eccentric, the breakfast unappealing.  The contrast was marked, with the next night in Ait Benhaddou where we got a pool and far better food for 20 dh more per person.

One notch down from ‘rustic charm’, but should really be cheaper or upgrade facilities a bit.
