Best hotel in Tangier. In front of the beach.
Everything was perfect. The food is delicious and varied.
The staff was exceptionally helpful and their service does make the hotel stand out !
I absolutely recommend

Great hotel

Location is good.  Rooms and service are terrible.  I would not stay there again. I had reserved a room with two beds as I was traveling with a friend.  Upon checkin I was told there were two beds in the room.  There was not.  There was one bed and a sofa that someone could sleep on, but not comfortably.  They moved us, but to a much smaller room.  Service at therooftop bar, breakfast room and front desk were all equally bad. 

Must better hotels in Tangier

A nice hotel with a lovely sea view from our room and the breakfast room. The variety and quality of food at the breakfast buffet was excellent, but the coffee machines were substandard, very often dispensing hot chocolate and not coffee. Any coffee that did come out was pretty tasteless. I have just read recent reviews and the problem has not been rectified, which is too bad. Also, the nights were disturbed virtually every day by wedding parties racing through the streets blasting car horns. Beware of the local taxis outside- they do not know where they are going.

Nice but some shortcomings

I stayed here for five days with my husband and my daughter. First impressions of this hotel are very impressive, but it is an illusion as the rest of our experience, largely due to the cleaning staff, was horrific. 

Our room was never cleaned during our stay, a service that should be done when you are paying 280GBP per night but our bins were never changed, our towels were never changed and our beds were never made, etc. However, whenever we were in the room ourselves, the door would always be opened by the cleaning staff without knocking or announcing they are coming in. The door would open while we were still asleep before breakfast, while we were getting ready to go out, etc. Whenever we left the room, one specific chambermaid would always start shouting across the hall and talking to my husband, offering 'extra' and 'special' services which I and my family found unacceptable and uncomfortable.  We even verbally told them we would like our room cleaned while we were out but this was never done, even though they were always trying to come into the room while we were there, and we were lied to repeatedly about why the room was never cleaned. 

Towards the end of the stay, we realised that they were going through and touching our stuff while we were out and one day jewellery was stolen from one of our bags. When we raised this to the manager and the history was taken from our door's electronic lock, we were shocked to find out that people had been repeatedly going into our room while we were out, multiple times a day. One particular cleaner, the one who kept offering my husband special services, had been spending a considerable amount of time in the room by herself each day. The manager did not feel this was suspicious, however if our room had never been cleaned over the 5 days we were there, what were all of these people doing inside our room during all this time? 

The head of the chambermaids refused to be up front about this situation, we had to insist for this information to be shared with us, and then we were blamed for leaving our belongings in the room. No compensation was offered even though the basic services were never provided and we were robbed. The hotel said that we could call the police because they could do nothing about it, but when we agreed to contact the police, the hotel made minimal effort to assist in this. I have not been able to include all the details in this review, but the lying, the cheating and the harassment is unbelievable. We left all of our contact details with reception before we left and we agreed the hotel manager would follow up with us but it has been over 2 weeks now and we have not heard anything so we felt we should leave a review about our experience at this point.
