Casa Del Rio

This small hostel its situated in a very nice spot where you can listen the river from your room, the view from your room is amazing as the only thing you can see from your window its the forest.has a very nice roof terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast and see the city of Chefchaouen.

I highly recommend staying here Mohammed Ali and his team are wonderful ....infact I kept making excuses to stay a little longer just so I could soak up the relaxed ambience and hang out with everyone.  The rooms and dorms are beautiful and spotless the whole casa is cleaned from top to bottom throughout the day and is stylishly decorated and the view from the terrace and upstairs rooms are both breathtaking.  

There's great chilled background music played in the afternoon and early evening and the cushioned Moroccan lounge is perfect to relax in if its a little hot outside. The mint tea and fresh orange juice is wonderful and Casa Del Rio (Dar Elrios) is just a short stroll away from the pretty blue medina ...so it's peaceful with a beautiful view of the Rif mountains, the sound of water cascading and with star gazing nightly options on the terrace! 

Chefchowan is a beautiful place to explore and Casa Del Rio (Dar Elrios) is a wonderful place to stay.  

I stayed here with my younger brother, who has a learning disability.  There was actually no room in the hotel, but Mohamed Ali, the owner, made some space and we had a wonderful mini apartment with living area and great views.
As you will read from other reviews, Mohamed Ali is a rare gem.  His mother had sent him a large couscous dish and soup which he invited us to eat along with other guests.  He also made a special vegetable drink for my brother, which was delicious.

It was February, therefore wintertime, but the heating system was great.

This is the same property listed on TripAdvisor with two different names (one in Arabic, one in Spanish). 

That said, it is lovely. We arrived without a reservation and the dorms were full, but they put us into a suite for a good price. It was easily the nicest room I stayed in in Morocco (and that's a lot of places; check my review history), with a fireplace, balcony, ensuite bathroom, bedroom, big HDTV, and lounge area with sofas and table. The upstairs terrace has a stunning view, and the tea on arrival was appreciated after a loooong bus ride to get there. After ignoring the touts at the bus station, a petit taxi driver knew exactly the place, and brought us to the door.

Only complaint: I forgot something there, and was unable to get in touch with the hotel to look for it. Fortunately a new guest found it (I had hidden it well), and was able to get in touch with me to return it. Thanks guys!!

Flawless; Same place as Dar Elrios

The best place we stayed in Morocco

Casa Del Rio has good reviews on both booking and trip adviser, so I stayed there for 2 days. However it turned out a surprise. The staff was nice. I got welcome tea when I arrived. The room looked good with nice mountain view, too. The first bad experience started from the bathroom. When I was washing my hands, I found the water sink was blocked, then saw exposed cables on the wall. I wanted to eat sth before going out to exploring the town and opened the fridge. There was no minibar at all. I don't know why they lists this as part of the description. At night, I found some long hairs in bed, which made me feel so bad. Isn't a clean bed is the very basic? I really don't care much about other decorations in the room somehow. I really hope it is just bad luck I got this room which was so bad, but other rooms are perfect as reviewed. If so, then room 25 is really in bad condition and it needs to be improved.
