This is a really interesting place to stay-it is located in a 17th century courthouse! It is nicely located, next to the Kasbah and within walking distance to an arts center. Our room was really spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious. 
Our only disappointment was in one of the employees-he actually cheated us out of some money! We paid for some laundry but did not have exact change, so this man said that he would get change and bring it to our room. He never did and when we went to look for him, he was gone and even the next day when we looked for him-they said he wouldn't be in till later. We had to leave, so that was that. It was not much money, but it is the principle of the thing! So beware of the man who works there and wears a short brimmed fedora!

Dar Kamar is a great place to stay!

I had such an amazing time staying at the Dar Kamar. I arrived at Ouarzazate airport to find my driver Mohammad with a sign for me.

Mohammad Essadik, who works at Dar Kamar, gave me the best welcome and allowed me to check in early. He organised an itinerary with the driver for a week. I visited lots of kasbahs, camped in the Merzouga desert, and saw some amazing views of the Atlas Mountains. 

Said, who works in the evening was such a great host too. He really cared that I was having a good time. I was even invited to break fast during Ramadan with the staff in kitchen, which was a wonderful experience.

I will definitely stay again. I feel like a member of the family x

Heart of gold

Dar Kamar is charming and in a great central walking location. I am giving extra credit for the lovely rooftop views and very friendly service staff at breakfast. 

Air conditioning worked well. Lots of steps of various sizes, so beware. 

I am not a light sleeper and enjoy the local sounds... But some may be bothered by the crying kids and loud family or the morning roosters outside my window. 

Only breakfast protein was hard boiled  egg. Or yogurt.. But we had a dinner on the rooftop that was outstanding. 

Per the picture of the room safe in my hand...best use is :1) lock the safe 2)hide the safe!!?? All room safes are tiny and not fastened to anything! 

Loud neighbors but beautiful rooftop

Such a warm welcome after a few important communications in preparation for our trip, the staff care was exceptional and the stories they have answer any questions related to the film industry in the area. The dining room has been honoured by many famous guests (actors and directors) over great, relaxed occasions ...but you will have to go there yourself to get the details ;).
The only criticism I have -that also relates to other accommodations in Maroc at this time of year- is that the fireplace is a set-piece only (at least in the room we had) and it was a shame it could not be lit. Any disappointment about that was forgotten and forgiven however, after the most amazing hammam and massage sessions. Kudos to the wonderful girls in the spa, we strongly recommend booking at least one kind of treatment during your stay.
Closing with five stars on the breakfast and dining quality, experience and service too. It was a wonderful stay and thank you to each and every one of the Dar Kamar team for the all-round excellent care.

A wonderful stay in Ouarzazate

I enjoyed this traditional Moroccan inn, but the mattress was very hard and uncomfortable.  The decor is full of art from all over Africa and is very interesting to explore.  Every room is different, and each is lovely.  The breakfast buffet offered American and Moroccan foods and was very good.  The fresh squeezed orange juice is heavenly.

Immediately felt welcomed. Rooms clean but bed a bit too firm. Breakfasts were plentiful as were dinners.  Hosts were friendly, accommodating and very helpful with arranging a driver/guide who was excellent. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Lovely riad

We spent one night at this riad while on a tour of Morocco. This is a charming place, in a historical kasbah completely renovated a few years ago. We were wholly transported in an oasis of calm, old Morocco charm and understated elegance from the first steps inside. Our hosts went beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. We booked a small double room but were upgraded to a standard double room. The room was large enough with a small office nook, quiet, spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, and pillows. Spotless clean and beautifully decorated bathroom with all expected amenities for a 3-star hotel and more. A/C, tv set, complimentary bottled water in the room. We could see the attention to detail and guests' comfort at every turn. I cannot emphasize enough how beautifully decorated in the old Berber style this place is - the pictures do not do it justice!!! Fresh coffee, Moroccan mint tea, bottled water are available at all times on the big terrace that offers fantastic views of the town - ideal for admiring a perfect sunset! Freshly made, delicious, and healthy dinner and breakfast included - in the dining room or on the outside terrace. Tourist attractions info was available on request. If you are worried about finding the place on your own, you call the phone number provided by the hotel when booking the room, and someone from the hotel will come and bring you to the place. However, it is easy to find, about 2-3 min walking distance once you enter the kasbah. Exceptional place, highly recommended!

Exceptional and memorable!

Very well located near the main avenue, parking available next to the Ryad. It’s a superbe place with very friendly staff. Breakfast at the roof top is a must. The rooms are well designed keeping authenticity and very well maintained. Highly recommended.

Superbe Ryad, nice location

When entering the Riad you are pushed back in time when the berber, arabs and jewish lived all together in the kasbah. The place is the old tribunal and has been renovated keeping a lot of the original sealing and atmosphere. Staff is really nice and sweet. Only negative point we could not have got water in our room (our friends next to us had no problems). Just to verify it before going back but I would definitely pick the same location.

The hotel is very well decorated and clean, the  rooms were very spacious. A lot of stairs for those not used to it, but for us was perfectly fine. 
We enjoyed very much our dinner there, food was very good and the wine also. Said, was very helpfull and kind to us, very dedicated. 

The view from the rooftop was amazing, we had a pleasent breakfast there. 

The only thing that could be better was the pathway to the hotel that could be more cleaner and regular, besides that i would totally recommend Dar Kamar.
