Palais Mehdi is a beautiful, other-worldly spot, designed and furnished in non-stop Moroccan style with a distinct personality. Wherever you are from, you will know that you are somewhere totally different. The team were cheerful, friendly, and attentive (which seems to be the norm in Morocco). The breakfasts were always delightful and served wherever wished, and the on-site restaurant was wonderful though pricey; another excellent restaurant is 400 m down the street. The on-site hammam was well worthwhile. The pool was lovely. Our one regret was that we did not have young children to help us fully explore, admire, and use the many fascinating rooms, nooks, and gardens on the site. Palais Mehdi was also an effective base for exploring Marrakech: it is about 15 minutes north of the Medina (and after we experienced the old Medina, we were glad to have some distance - personal preference). The front office provided excellent logistic support (eg for taxis into town or to/from airport, setting up tours and expeditions, general advice and assistance, etc). We had a fine and memorable stay.
