Les Yeux DU Desert

Kicking around the bucket list, my daughters friend recommended Omar for our impending trip to Morocco. After reaching out to him and being patience with regard to time differences and trying to design a grand vacation, Omar came up with a perfect ten day itinerary. He factored in our wishlists, amount of time and monetary needs. We got to see vibrant cities, mosques, parks, medinas, country sides, museums, animals, shops, and artisans. Each evening we stayed in clean, warm, and beautifully designed environments. Our overnight in the desert, after a camel ride to the camp, was breathtaking. The tents, food, music and camaraderie within the group were so very special. I don’t think I will ever forget the feel of the sand, cool and silky. Everywhere the food was delicious, flavored with local spices. A driver was provided (a must). Mohammad was a wonderfully pleasant, young man, who took good care of us. We came to enjoy his company, stories and infectious laugh. We drove from Casa Blanca, south, east, north and back west, making a giant loop, stopping along the way. Upon meeting Omar, in Merzouga, we were greeted by a gentle giant of sorts. A tall, lean, and soft spoken man, Omar was bright, knowledgeable, and warm. He was well respected by colleagues and locals. “Tranquil” was his favorite word for us! And we did. This trip pushed me slightly out of my comfort zone, only to realize my comfort zone is much larger now (as I find with much travel). The world truly is full of beautiful people, amazing sites and natural wonders. I highly recommend this group. Enjoy!
