This is the hotel Eldorador Club Palmeraie. It seems to have two names but it is the same hotel. I know because I have just been! So take a look at the reviews for this hotel as well. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I spent a week at the Jet Eldo Palmeraie hotel in September 2011. From the moment we walked through the door into the hotel reception we were taken aback by how beautiful the hotel was, and how kind the staff were. I have never stayed in a hotel with such a fantastic atmosphere and service, and would not hesitate to go back again. 

The rooms:

The rooms are of a good size, with an en-suite bathroom and a balcony. The decor is modern and the rooms are very clean and well maintained. The rooms are well equipped, with a television, bedside lamps and plenty of electrical sockets. The bathroom was great, with a nice powerful shower and plenty of space. 

The outside areas:

The hotel has two lovely swimming pools - one quiet pool and one which has entertainment and music throughout the day. There are plenty of sunbeds, and when we were there we did not have any trouble in getting one. The hotel grounds are beautiful and nice to walk around. There is also an outside area for eating, which is great for when it is too hot to eat indoors. 

Inside the hotel:

The hotel has lots of comfortable areas in which to sit or lounge around. We really loved the bar lounge area. The reception was very ornate and lavishly decorated. It really made you feel as though you were in a luxury hotel. 

The food:

Being all-inclusive we were expecting the food to be repetitive and of average quality. We were pleasantly surprised to find that there were different dishes every day, with certain nights offering themed food, such as Italian or Moroccan. Food included cold starters and salads, main dishes such as pizza, tagines, pasta, vegetables, seafood, meat and all kinds of tasty food, and great desserts as well. Breakfasts were cereal, toast, pancakes, pastries, cakes, dried fruit, yoghurt and eggs. Could not fault the food at all, and I was also pleased that most of it was reasonably healthy, which is nice when you are eating so much of it!

The staff:

The most amazing this about this hotel was the staff. We were greeted instantly when we arrived with cocktails and a member of staff to take our bags to our room. Although many staff did not speak a lot of English, they were more than happy to try. Because the hotel has mostly French guests, they have an English speaking Moroccan rep called Fawz, who was introduced to us on the first night. He showed us around the hotel on our first day, and was always available to answer our questions and help us out if we needed him. He joined us for drinks in the evenings and ate dinner with us on our last night. We also booked a trip to the mountains with him to see the Berber villages, which was the most amazing day. The other staff were all polite and went out of their way to help us. A bar man called Hakim was very sweet, and always had a smile on his face. Leaving the hotel on our last day, Hakim came to meet us to say goodbye, and Fawz came to the airport to see us off. No words can describe how amazing the hotel staff were, and how we felt when we had to leave.

lovely hotel, lovely grounds and staff are so friendly,olny downside it is a french hotel and u do have to ask for english information,but would recomend as a good value holiday, u are a bit away from marakesh but hotel runs a free shuttle bus

Overall we had a great time at the hotel.  The hotel caters mostly for the French and Moroccan clients – although I believe this may change next year as the hotel is included in a UK brochure.  We actually didn’t mind this.  We don’t have kids so can’t comment on kids clubs and didn’t go to see the evening entertainment  so can’t comment on that either.

Note: the hotel is known as the Eldorador locally – when we got the airport the taxio driver didn’t know were the Jet Eldo was!!

I’ll try not to make this review too long!

Room  - adequate sized room with daybed which would be 3rd bed I think.  Small balcony, air-con,  fridge with fresh large bottle of water daily and flat screen TV.  Bathroom is fairly large. Plenty of cupboard/hanging space.  Seemed to have been recently painted, however furniture was a little tired, but bed comfortable and very clean.

Grounds –well kept grounds with lots of things to do.  Tennis, table tennis, archery etc.  2 pools -  the activity pool which had the louder music and kids pool next to it.  The ‘Zen’ pool had no music – although sometimes you could hear it from the activity pool!  Both pools areas always clean and tidy with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas.  

Bars – a couple of bars at the complex, one near the pool you have to go up steps to the terrace to get to and another next to the restaurant.  

Food  - food was Mediterranean and Moroccan buffet.  Salads and lot of fresh olives, cooking stations and freshly made pizzas every day.  No chips thank goodness!   Good standard of food if a little repetitive by the end of the week.  

Staff – all the staff were very friendly.  Most spoke at least a little English – but a little pigeon French seemed to go a long way!   

We also used the shuttle bus which was free and very handy!
All in all a good standard of hotel  approx 15-20 minutes from the centre of Marrakech.  Nothing else is near the hotel so if you do want to go anywhere a taxi is needed.

Relaxing Marrakech

An amazing hotel...the best I have been to

Excellent hotel

I was completely amazed at the lack of service provided by this hotel.  We were often ignored at meal times by the staff  in the restuarant.  If you are fluent in French you may stand a better chance. Completely unforgivable was the state of the tables.  Dirty, stained tablecloths were simply shaken and returned to the table, we had sit and wait while dirty crockery was removed.  It would be far better to use a quality paper cloth, more ecological than attempting to wash the poor quality linen that had seen better days.  The bedroom linen was equally poor, stained, unironed and had seen better service.  In the bathroom the shower was broken, our towels did not fair any better, glasses in the room where not replaced daily and bathroom was not cleaned.   The terrance was covered in ants, making it impossible to sit out to overlooked the rubbish that was spilled on the path.  Plus points there are a few, the swimming pools were kept very clean and the surounding areas washed down daily. This hotel has huge resources in terms of space, lounges and bars and equipment.  If staff training could be brought up to standard this could make the whole experience much better.  The constant sunshine helped us to offset the disappointment.
One the last day we met up with a Thomas Cook rep, and although we did not travel with Thomas Cook she was symapthetic, said she would flag our comments up to the management.  I travelled with my brother and the cost was £1,360.00 for 5 nights.  We could have done a lot better in quality, service and location!
