La Villa Bleue

What a gorgeous little place! Thank you to all the staff who were very kind and helpful. We arrived at the hotel from the airport by bus number 12. It stops at the main road which is a 5 min (if that) walk away. It was very easy to find the hotel using Google Maps. As we were too early to check in, we were welcomed with some fresh morroccan tea and a biscuit while we waited to check in at 1pm. Tourist tax was paid on arrival and we had a tour of the riad- restaurant and pool downstairs and the rooftop terrace on top floor. We were pleasantly surprised with our room- it was the one with a balcony overlooking the pool. The room was very traditional with nice decor. Very clean and very spacious. Shower gel, shampoo and toilet roll provided. Fresh towels daily and a thorough clean every day, too. The pool is lovely to cool off and there are a few loungers and chairs around it- more lounge space in the sun on the terrace available (with beautiful views down onto the streets) and plenty of sofas and chairs in the reception. The restaurant is so lovely with, again, traditional decor. Breakfast is a selection of breads and pancakes with jams etc. and a juice, coffee and tea. It's lovely and freshly made daily by the kind and helpful chef. We've tried the Couscous and tagine in the hotel at night and it was also delicious! Highly recommend for an authentic home-cooked experience. The riad is far enough from the street to enjoy the peace at night and relax in the day. But close enough to walk to the main road to catch a bus to town, walk to Majorelle and YSL within 10 mins or so, 20 mins to Gueliz the new town and about 40 mins to the Medina and the souks. We've walked a lot with frequent stops at the parks and benches on the way- great way to explore the city. WiFi is great just sometimes need to switch from the 5G to Standard one when it's busy. Thank you so much to all the helpful staff. Everything was lovely, clean and just a great experience over all. This hotel deserves more than the 3 star rating. And 5 stars from us as we think everyone has gone above and beyond to make our stay. It had a home-like feel.
