The location is perfect with easy access to everything the medina has to offer. The riad itself is beautiful and our room is very comfortable. This is a guest house, not a hotel, and they treat you like family, not like a customer, which my wife and I absolutely love. To me, that is what makes Riad Dama exceptional. The staff are all incredibly kind, thoughtful, and helpful, especially Jamal. He texted me before we even left Colorado, and has been an incredibly gracious host. I cannot recommend Riad Dama and Jamal enough. It has been an absolutely magical experience so far, and I am happy we still have a few days left.

Magical

Jamal and Chipo, are the most attentive hosts you could ever wish for!    This is a charming oasis of calm in the middle of the bustling inner-Medina, with a peaceful roof terrace for a quiet suntan.    The rooms are cool with very comfy beds.    A lovely hammam and jacuzzi give an added luxury.

The real warmth of Marrakech


Such a wonderful week spent at riad dama. The hosts Jamal and Chipo were always there to help with any advice and recommended the best locations. We had the most relaxing massage on the final day and wished it would never end, thanks to Melaka and Hamsa! Can’t wait to come back!

Sanctuary amongst the Souks

We had a great 5 nights at Riad Dama.  the hosts are fantastic - so helpful and able to recommend some superb options for meals out and excursions.  We had a superb stay and would recommend it.  For us the location in the Medina was important as was the selection of a riad.  

Really enjoyed our stay

Absolutly loved my stay at this riad. The host and his coworker were more than welcoming and made me feel at home from the first second. the weather was crazy hot (47 degrees) and this riad had the best airconditioning a tourist could wish for. The interior is warm and traditional and the room was perfect. And to mention again, the host and his coworker were warm, welcoming and most kind. Thank you for the stay and will definitly see you again!

Perfect!

This riad was perfect for us…it was centrally located and the staff was super helpful with the booking of drivers and activities. 
Breakfast was really enjoyable and Moroccan inspired in flavours. 
We really enjoyed our stay…you have a real sense of what is like to live in Marrakesh…totally bonkers but amazing 😻

Great hospitality in this cosy riad in the middle of the medina area

Riad Dama was perfect for us. Lovely room, comfy bed and good bathroom with a hot shower. It’s also well located near a road (helpful for taxis) but also on a direct route to the main square which helped us a lot with orienting ourselves in the medina. What makes this place really special though is the staff - we could not have felt more welcome or better taken care of and the service was so warm and friendly.

Good earplugs are a must as the rooms are not soundproofed, but I think this is common with riads.

Wonderful staff

We got a very warm welcome with a choice of cold lemon drink or traditional hot tea. Due to hot weather, we picked lemon drink but the staff urged us to try the hot tea and we were glad we listened to them. Ditto about breakfast next day - very friendly staff, delicious food. Great service overall.
The rooms were small (not surprising & OK) but there were some problems - door did not close properly and in one of the rooms we got, AC just did not work. That was bad given the very warm night temperatures and because it was our first night after a long flight from the US (i.e. no good sleep for ~36 hours).
This would be a lovely choice if the owners put in the effort to fix things like AC & door latches. I realize that Covid has financially strained everyone badly but guests won't come without at least reasonable baseline facilities.

I would have given it 3 stars due to facilities issues but due to the excellent staff, I feel compelled to increase it one notch!

Friendly staff, nice breakfast, rooms need some work

Room was nice, spacious and clean. Arrived a bit late and didn't want to go out too far for food. Riad Dama had a nice menu - which was a relief for us as we're vegetarian. Had a nice couscous meal - filling and good price. Staff were helpful. 
Would suggest getting transportation to the Riad (organised by the Riad staff beforehand). Used the Riad Dama to organise transport back to the airport. 
Great for a traditional experience, however fellow travellers might have wanted a TV to pass the time..

Friendly and helpful staff

When we arrived at the Riad we were  hassled by 4  people for money immediately outside then not allowed to got to the room until the owner arrived. The room was pleasant and rustic but needed some work (Every time we turned in bed the sidelights clicked on, the glass was broken on one and missing on another door panel. The shower had no power and need a new shower head).The Staff were so lovely, sociable and happy to spend time with us working out  French and English. The breakfast was extremely basic, bread, cake orange juice and tea. On our two arranged trips out the taxi collected us from the Riad but dropped us the otherside of the medina saying he wouldn't take us back, the second occasion the lovely minibus driver refused to leave us when the taxi never arrived and rang the Riad insisting somebody came to meet us. The nigh porter is an absolute star!!!!
