Dar Aquas

I had a wonderful stay at Dar Aquas. I stayed for three nights and Brian immediately made me feel at home. He was more than happy to talk and answer any questions, about navigating this part of the medina, the work he did on the beautiful restoration of the place, anything. The dar is a beautiful and lovingly restored traditional home, complete with a small fountain in the foyer and a relaxing rooftop terrace. The rooms are all beautiful, airy, and extremely comfortable, with air conditioning, en suite bathrooms, and excellent wifi. A very delicious and extremely generous breakfast is included. Brian was an incredibly gracious and generous host. I was traveling by myself and it was really nice to sit and chat on the rooftop terrace with him at the end of the day, discussing Morocco, politics, the economy, anything. He always made sure I had everything I needed, made sure I knew my way back and around the area the first day out, etc. He even was kind enough to offer and make me a sandwich to pack before taking a very early flight - which was delicious and very welcome during my layover! I can't say enough about how wonderful he was. In addition to the hotel itself, I really enjoyed staying in this part of the medina, by Bab Rcif, because there are less tourists staying in this area. It was a great way to get to know another part of the medina, a more functional, everyday part where people are equally welcoming. Bab Rcif is also one of the few places in the medina where vehicles can come in (up until there), so it was very convenient to be just a few minutes away walking to meet the taxi to the airport. Brian was also kind enough to make arrangements with a taxi driver he knows well, who came with his son to get me at the hotel and escort me to the taxi. They were also incredibly attentive and helped me with my bags. Thank you so much Brian for the wonderful stay and the wonderful conversation!
