Riad Assilah

I was at this Riad with 5 other friends and Irene (hostess) was very gentle to receive us in a spot where we could park our cars and then took us safely to the riad. 
The breakfast was good. A good way to put yourself in the Arabic mood! 
The rooms could have more morrocan decoration but it was clean and cozy!


The Riad is perfectly located - in the Médina, close to the beach! 
The staff is extremely friendly and will help you with all your questions. For an extra 3 Euros you can enjoy a decent breakfast on the rooftop. 
For Marco standards it’s fairly expensive.


I arrived by taxi from Chefchouen mid day and the staff from the Riad met me at the street outside of the Kasbah. Riad Asilah is conveniently located to Bab Homar and the small circuit of sights to see. The Riad itself is decorated with more modern artwork and furnishings with a few antiques in the lobby. My room had a small window overlooking the front door and I was grateful to the staff that allowed me to move there rather than having a room with just the interior windows for natural light which is common in a Riad. Because it was a smaller room they adjusted the cost and called booking.com for a lower rate. That was very kind of them although I didn’t ask for it. Breakfast on the roof of were prepared by the friendly Rachida who also cleans the Riad. A woman’s work is never done. The upper terrace provides a nice seating for the night air but there is not much of a view in the center of the Kasbah as the Riad is situated. I felt it easy to walk around and take dinners in the nearby restaurants and to watch the sun set from the Kasbah wall. I had planned to spend 4 nights in Asilah but two were enough and I moved on. The murals and sea walls provided a lovely background for photos and small shops and galleries were quaint but there is a large population of transient merchants selling Chinese knock-offs along the Kasbah walks which in my opinion detracts from the charm. The beach and port are nice to look at but I would not call it a swimming beach. I know further up or down the coast there are more appropriate places to swim and relax in the sand.  Perhaps during the arts festival there is more to see and do but as it was I enjoyed my time and Riad Asilah was a safe and comfortable place to stay. 


Stayed at this hotel for one night. Right in the center of the Medina, walking distance to center square and many restaurants.  Comfortable room with free wifi, however, the television did not work, but that is minor as most of the time was spent outside the Riad visiting the beautiful city and the Medina.

If you're visiting the medina, this is a very good choice. It's clean and perfectly located steps beyond the walled entry. The rooms upstairs are quite small, so we chose the spacious Assilah room on the main level. It doesn't provide outside light -- the windows open onto the enclosed courtyard -- but we appreciated the additional space and large bathroom. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Safe and Quiet in the Kasbah 

Great Location!

Excellent location, quaint Riad

Feel safe in a beautiful little city!

Nice Riad in Assilah

The location is inside the madina but the comfort of the Riad is less than basic. No welcoming customers with mint tea which we received in all the other Riads we stayed at. Didn’t bother checking us in. No staff was available at anytime of the day. 
The breakfast consisted of stale bread warmed up in the microwave and the butter was off. 
It’s cheap for a reason!

Don’t bother!

the roms are Very Small, they annonced a price for the reservation, but the price changed when i wanted to pay, terrible breakfast with nothing in it (bread from yestrday), too expensive for the service
