Amazing Ionika Hostel

Friendly staff, nice to meet other guests. 
Only complaint was people sleeping on the sofas/common area in the dorm (10 bed dorm, we were all very warm, but one person slept on the sofa by the window).  
I asked staff, and was assured he wouldn’t sleep there. He was there all night for 2 nights. Not very fair.

Nice hostel, just a little unfair in their policies with dorms (despite discussions around it)

Consider staying in another hostel.
I When I arrived the first Thing that met me, was the party of I think Ukrainian refugees, totally wasted. They kept playing so loud music outside, that i could lay in my bed and trace the music number on my phone. Even though i went to the receptionist many times, and he told them to turn it down, 20 minuts later they turned it back up. They had No respect for that Guy in the reception. The rooms are def not soundprof!

My room was freezingly cold, cause they forgot to "turn" on the central heating. I arrived at 9pm, and the room didnt start to warm up until 01am, so I went to bed in my winterjacket. Wallpaper is coming off in the room, and both the sheets and towls needs to be upgraded.
Last, had to use the bathroom in the night, and someone was also sleeping in the common room of the hostel, with a bucket and puke on the floor.
The sound and smell in the morning from this person, its just not acceptable.

I think its great if the hostel is helping people out, who needs it the most right now. But its a hostel with paying costumers, and not a shelter, they should inforce some rules, so that other guest feels good and safe too.

Re-consider staying somewhere else!

Heard some tourists don't go here right now, cause they heard that there are Moldovan workers sleep there.... First of all they are really nice and don't snore and second they helped ionika to survive the crisis. I was only the 3rd tourist since Corona, please everyone come to ionika hostel it is truly amazing.. You will love the decorations and you will definitely love ruebens

Great location (next to the centre, walkable distance to all the highlights of the city), very helpful and friendly staff, amazing attitude to the people! When coming to Chisinau definitely choosing this place again!

Great place to stay!

Very friendly staff. Bunk room kind of tight, weird privacy vibe with hermetic-sealing curtains. Four showers, excellent. Hard to find: go through gate at no. 62, to second property on the left. Prettily appointed.

Great loc, people, not modern

it's probably the best hostel for backpackers in Chissinau.
The owner, Rubens, is super friendly, informative, welcoming and helpful, he'll make sure you get everything you need. He can bit a bit pushy towards his own tours though. The rest of the staff are nothing special, not the friendliest. They hang out together in the hostel and cook in the kitchen, so sometimes it can be a bit busy if you want to cook your own meals or sit at the table to eat.
They have a lot of local guests, some of them relatively old, who don't speak any English, so the vibe can feel a bit weird specially for young backpackers.
The facilities are very good, great beds with curtains and fans.
Only 2 toilets, so you have to wait for a little bit sometimes.
Overall a nice hostel and I would stay here again.

Great hostel for Moldovan standards

just a short walk from the center, a perfect hostel frequented by people of all nationalities, with the Italian owner acting as a glue for the guests.
Fully equipped kitchen equipped with everything for breakfast, cleaning and many common spaces for socializing or reading, maybe in the garden.
The owner gave me a map of the city he "created" with the main points and the recommended route, it was really nice.

like being at home

I stayed in Ionika Hostel two nights. The place is really beautiful, with a lot of space for everyone. The owner is really nice and he does his best to show you every part of the hostel and to make you feel comfortable. From now on, I will always chose Ionika Hostel! :)

Best Chisinau Hostel

An excellent hostel which is a great choice in Chisnau. Reubens gave without doubt the most in-depth hostel introduction I have ever had. He is a fantastic host and you can see he really wants the hostel to be the most comfortable place to stay. There are a ton of sofas and hang out areas, millions of sockets. There is an excellent kitchen where you find the free all you can eat breakfast. I ended up staying an extra 2 days longer than I needed and that was purely down to this hostel. Stay here.

Fantastic

The location of the hostel is near the city centre, 3 mins to a supermarket and lots of restaurants nearby. Rubens, the owner explained everything in the hostel in detail. The hostel offers very simple breakfast so don't keep your expectations high. The bathroom has a very nice shower that can play music. Lots of common area to chill and interact with people.
