Over the years we have looked at Casa Hamaca as a place to stay when we visited Valladolid but we always considered it beyond our price range. This year however, we stumbled across a great deal through a third-party booker. The hotel is located a few blocks from the zocalo but an easy walk. It is set in a bit of a park south of downtown in the San Juan neighborhood. Check in was easy. Denis - the owner - was expecting us. Some rooms are on the ground floor level and others are upstairs. Ours was upstairs. I believe the property is accessible for the main floor and the restaurant. The room was very large, the beds were extremely comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. We had A/C but didn't require it even though the days were hot. The room was very quiet at night and we enjoyed a really good sleep. There are a number of cats that frequent the property. Denis says he only has one cat but they put out food in the morning and frequently over a dozen come to eat. They are not bothersome and likely help a lot to control vermin and insects in the area. There is a small pool on the property as well. Denis and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The breakfast was very good as well. Depending on how much you want to spend, you can't go wrong with this option in Valladolid.
