I basically just want a place where I have privacy, a comfortable bed, and shower. If you are more demanding than that, you might want to consider other alternatives. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the major sights, which I preferred since it was close, but there wasn't as much noise from the street. There is, however, noise within the hotel. There's an echo, so you hear anything that's happening at reception and with other guests going to and from their rooms. The hot water takes a little while to kick in and the sink has no cover, so you can see the dirty drain with hair and slime, which is pretty gross, but the room was clean. It's very bare bones, not even a table lamp (I used the flashlight from my phone to do nighttime reading). No AC either as you might expect. This wasn't really an issue as the room was naturally pretty cool during the day and the temperatures drop considerably during the night in SMA. It might be an issue for some in the hotter months. I found the internet to be reliable. There is no breakfast option, but a few good cafes close by that are good and cheap. The service was very good. One person helped me get the bus schedule for a visit to Guanajuato and, when I had issues with my shuttle being very late for pick-up to the airport, the man at reception called around to get a few quotes for me with cabs for which I'm very grateful.
