This is a World Heritage city where you don’t expect anything modern including stop lights, this house is so nice and old it definitely takes you back in history, the room was small but again we didn’t expect otherwise, for sure the service is excellent and the geographical location is perfect, everything is at walking distance, one recommendation wear flat shoes, every street and side walk is made of cantera and rocks, we recommend this place.

El Zaguán is a quiet, private and pretty place which is located right in the middle of the old town.  The owner and his family as well as the staff are warm and friendly and genuinely care about the quality of your stay.

El Zaguan Bed & Art is a lovely, quiet and perfectly located place to stay in this beautiful town.  It is run by a family and feels like it.  Alfredo, his family and their staff will go out of their way to help you and make your stay enjoyable.  The hotel has a very private feeling, yet it is centrally located in the old town so you can go out for a nice walk, come back and rest and go out again.  There is also a feeling of creativity and warmth about this hotel.

I can't review the hotel because we didn't stay there. However, 5 SMA residents and 2 visitors descended on the small cafe for a late breakfast and loved it. We are gringas who meet at different eateries every Monday morning. Today was our first time at El Zaguan. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The coffee was good and the breakfasts were delicious. Among us, we had omelets, poached eggs, cilantro cream, papas, refried frijoles and a unique egg casserole. One of our 'criteria' is whether we would return for another breakfast. Here, the unanimous consensus is YES we will come back again. Gracias to our waitress, the kitchen staff and owners for a great experience.

My husband and I have been to El Zaguan several times!! A small quant cafe with a fabulous atmosphere and really great food!! I think they have maybe 6 tables which is perfect! The food is wonderful and the home made juices are to die for! WE love the wall paper on one wall of the small cafe! It has some great sayings on it...for instance.."Too much Monday and not enough coffee"...."A yawn is a silent scream for coffee"..."Grab life by the beans"..."Coffee is not a matter of life or death, its much more important than that"...head to El Zaguan for a fabulous breakfast experience with a very friendly staff and atmosphere!
