I don't know why ANYONE would give a bad review to Paraiso Escondido!  It has been refreshed in a beautiful way, it is tranquil, serene and every detail has been attended to.  Everyone on staff is friendly and immediately responsive and the site and the location cannot be beat.  I hope, for your sake that you get the opportunity to feel the beauty and healing of this place, it is amazing beyond measure. 

I am in the process of booking my next visit a year in advance in hopes that even a sliver of the wonder can be recreated next year.

I cannot say enough nice things

Been to San Pancho a number of times and enjoy it very much.  Stayed here for a couple of nights, and I wouldn't do it again.  It's seen better days.  Location is excellent, bath towels are soft and it's run down.  Single table was patched with PVC pipe, and chairs were torn and didn't look safe.  Bathroom has a step up, and you keep forgetting about that when you exit at night.  Surprisingly, maid didn't clean on overnight but did clean the morning I was leaving and while I was at the beach.  She had to come back again later to change the bed, etc.  The roosters and dogs in the morning were charming in a barnyard sort of way.  Babies crying in the outdoor rooms were not.

Loved San Pancho for years, but there are better places to stay

My family booked with Paraiso Escondido, and it's owner, 14 months before we were due to arrive and use the entire complex (17 people). 10 days before our arrival we received an email that she had double booked and was cancelling our reservation! In an attempt to make it better she booked us at another 'hotel' and promised it would be just as beautiful as her rental. Upon arrival we discovered she booked us in a termite infested, hostel-type unit, right off the highway with no hot water, no kitchen, and only enough bedspreads and towels for half the rooms. The day of our arrival we discovered she had lied to our new rental unit about our numbers AND she refused to help us with any issues we were having. I would NEVER book at Paraiso Escondido again as the risk of having your reservation cancelled last minute and ruining a family trip is far too great! Imagine spending two years organizing 21 family members to travel to Mexico and ending up in the accommodation I described, then having half the family leave early in separate directions because they couldn't handle the light fixtures falling down anymore!
